Yea I agree. I love the hill, and running down to touch the rock, but you have to admit that when the Seminole runs out on the horse with a flaming spear and stabs it in the ground at midfield, that is pretty Bad A! Still doesn't give me the goosebumps like when the cannon goes off in the Valley though!

I've never been, but the intro is pretty cool.
I've never been to an NFL game either. Is it anything like a college game?

No school in the ACC beats Death Valley and she.......

has to be a nerd if she thinks Ga Tech has one of the best fight songs in the ACC - that song was written by a geek(s) for geeks - can't begin to compare to our correct and best version of Tiger Rag as a real fight song.

Clemson and VT's traditions don't compare
Jan 18, 2012, 3:52 PM
|
|
Clemson's atmosphere is generated by tradition and a sense of family. You feel like you know everyone who is in orange - complete with the crazy uncles. The tailgating, the Esso, the traditions, the beauty of the campus, the noise of the stadium, the energy of the fans - all combine to make it the best.
And "Enter Sandman?" How many teams use that? That's not a tradition - that's just a sound bite through the PA system. If I were to put ANYONE ahead of us - and that wouldn't happen - it would be FSU just because, having been there several times, the fans get super jacked with the entrance of Osceola and Renegade. That, the uber-volume of the Marching Chiefs belting out that stupid war chant and 80,000 or so idiots chanting along make it a very cool atmosphere. I wouldn't put it above ours - but if any were to be, this would be the one - NOT Va Tech.

to stand atop "The Hill" just once...and watch 80,000 raging, screaming Tigers rise as one in thundering cheers to Tiger Band's "Tiger Rag"...then touch "The Rock" and run down the hill! I'll tell you, folks, I've been in a lot of stadiums, and THERE AIN'T NOTHING LIKE THE MAGIC, EXCITEMENT AND SHEER HAIR-RAISING THRILL of that grand entrance into Death Valley! Whether Clemson grads or fans, I wish ALL of you could experience "The Hill" just once!

Chosen by a marketing team in 2000. Really HD? REALLY?
Call me when VT's marquee traditions has at least a few decades under it belt.

My list......
Jan 18, 2012, 4:47 PM
|
|
Clemson...It's not even close and that isn't being biased.
FSU....Osceola with the flaming spear on Renegade is a very good entrance. It can be very loud in Tally. Though in recent years not as much.
Va Tech...They do love football there, but get to much pub for the atmosphere. Oh and "Enter Sandman" is Mariano Rivera's song!
The rest in no order because they pretty much suck.
BC...Best road trip in the conf. only because of the city. Tailgating and game atmosphere sucks.
Maryland....Urban crowd and even though I've never had a problem you always feel a bit uneasy.
Virginia....Nice campus.
Wake....Good for tailgating because you can park close like a Heisman Donor.
Duke....Usually as many Clemson fans there as Duke fans. Best concessions in the ACC.
UNC...Pretty campus, but nothing intimidating about Chapel Hill.
Ga Tech....Nice view of the Atlanta skyline and always something to do in the ATL. Nerds can get mouthy when they win.
Miami....The local thugs come out to support The U. Good road trip for what you can do other than the game.
NC State...The worst fans in the conf. IMO! LOUD piped in music. I'll pull for them against only one school.
