...Please do not turn this into a political post. This post is not meant to be political or to be about Republicans or Democrats.
This post is strictly meant to be about Clemson University,
If Nikki was to eventually become the President; how much would Clemson University benefit from this? I am not talking financially but just the notoriety of the first female President of the United States, and she was a Clemson graduate.
Thoughts?

I’ve actually thought a good bit about this. Definitely wouldn’t hurt. It was also house her presidential library one day. Clemson with a presidential library! That would be awesome

Nikki Haley presidency would be huge for Clemson. Immediate notoriety. Name recognition for something besides football national championships. Presidential library at the completion of her term. Depending on how much she actually likes Clemson and decides to promote Clemson in both overt and subtle ways.
Just ask yourself how many ACC schools have alumni as presidents at all, much less in the 20th and 21st century. Yes, it would be big.
Clawing your way up the academic ladder by hiring slightly better professors and attracting students with slightly higher board scores in the era of DEI is hard. Having an alumnus become president. Huge.

I don't know how many times I can say it... The original post was a question to posters, not a political endorsement.
I am not a supporter of hers nor do I care if she continues to run. I would have posed the same question if DeSantis, Ramaswamy, Christie or any of the others were Clemson alumnus.

I agree that such notoriety would be very positive for Clemson. And imagine a presidential library in the future.

Nikki doesn’t have a chance, Trump will probably be the president, the more they try to oust their opponent the stronger he gets.
The democrats are making it easy despite their trying to get rid of the competition.
They will try everything including the kitchen sink to not have an election while using the media as they have to try to destroy him.
The older educated population grew up trusting our media for the truth, many are buying what they say about Trump, wars and the border hook line and sinker because they can’t peel away from watching them repeatedly because they don’t have other options.
Many are waking up as they start to realize they are going to pay for the wars that make them rich and continue to foot the bill on the 12 million new migrants that we have no idea who they are filling up schools and motels across America with a 34 trillion deficit that continues to grow as they try to go to digital currency because the dollar is no longer used by many as the main currency.
One guy wants to give the power to the people & proved it for 4 years, the other should be in a retirement community and is flooding our country with migration through our Mexican border hoping to make them citizens for votes & cheap labor/military while the rest of the country picks up the tab as they get paid.

I'd have to guess there would only be positives from it. Most non-Ivy League schools don't have any Presidential graduates, and she would be the first female President. Being a state school in a small state Clemson needs all of the publicity it can get.

Politics aside if you could somehow blindly poll this forum and ask if they would say to be their a boss, prefer a Clemson Grad who extolls “ family values” that they love to ascribe to Clemson vs
A loud-mouth Yankee, who is twice- divorced and that pulled a ridiculous PR stunt with our National Championship football team during their visit to the White House (imagine if Obama/anybody other than trump did that Fast Food propaganda) it wouldn’t be close.

Fair enough. Thank you for your opinion and at least a well thought out response.
As far as the 2016 Clemson visit to the White House, I could be wrong, but I vaguely remember the serving of fast food was chosen by the players. I believe they were asked what they wanted for food, and they chose fast food. I could be wrong though but I thought I remembered reading that somewhere.

The White House banquet was during a government shutdown and as such no staff, no money, etc. I think the choice was “do you want Hamberders or nothing?” - and so Hamberders it was.
Trump paid for it on his dime and the food is secondary to a WH visit - so I think it worked out quite well for all.

I will not be voting for Nikki, regardless. She is a made product of the system. Dont care what state she claims. Cant bring a politician into a conversation and its not considered political. With all that being said no would rather not have the library.

Thank you TNTiger17 The original intent of my post was not to cause any decisiveness. I was truly curious as to how Clemson folk my feel about having a Clemson graduate as President.
I have never spoken about Politics on T-Net and have never given my opinion on who I would or would not vote for. I do vote and will this year.

It made sick to my stomach to see USC fans talking about how great it would be for the USC brand to have the Lindsey Graham backed Michelle Childs nominated for SCOTUS. The woman thought she had the authority to change election law, and was the first an only recipient of a UNANIMOUS SCOTUS ruling against her for election interference.

As soon as I saw her name, I knew someone was going to make a political swipe. I would have said something like this to make your question more receptive and less hostile. "This election, Nikki Haley is running for president of the United States and had me thinking what the impact of any alumna, Republican or Democrat becoming POTUS would do to Clemson University?" I don't know. Maybe lol. Anyway, back to your question. For one, it would be huge as whoever that person is will be the first woman president and Clemson University will be further etched in the history books. I know we had Strom, but I think this would be bigger. And you can tell young high school students, in South Carolina and the rest of the nation you can go to Clemson University and be anyone you want.
