Most of you know that I have coached Little League baseball

at the All-Star level as an assistant coach, winning our district and making it to state. Well, this year I have accepted a position as an assistant football coach. And before you even start, I will not be on the chain gang, or running the clock, or making sure parents know about some snack schedule. This is not some rec league 8 man daycare camp, this is legitimate 11 on 11 football played at the JV level, and I am a position coach. We are expecting great things this season and I wouldn't be surprised if I end up getting to know some of the Clemson staff as they make their rounds around South Carolina this fall. I tell you this because this is a very busy time for a football staff as preparations begin for the upcoming season, so my time on this website may be limited.

Jim Brown got up too slowly after plays. I doubt that would have been tolerated in our program. “Hustle” is #2 on my list of what makes a successful player.

A few pointers for dealing with 2023 children.
- Never, ever, ever tell one of them they’ve done something wrong.
- each one will expect a ribbon. a medal and a trophy after each practice
- at the conclusion of each drill or play at practice, a minimum of 30 mins should be set aside to discuss if anyone’s feelings are hurt.
- the parents will be terrific. except for when you can see if hear them.
- it’s a lot like babysitting, but with less authority and lower pay.
