Played a lot last night. Was Edmonds hurt or did we keep Fields out there for his speed?

I don't know the answer but would like to comment that I thought Fields looked pretty good out there. There was one bogus PI called on him that shouldn't have been called.

We really missed Jadar and I have no idea where Edmonds was. Tankersly looked like a freshman cb and our safety plays was.....in a word.....horrific!

If Jadar is back there, I doubt FSU breaks those long runs. We will need Safeties with speed in our recruiting class.

All that and we held their QB under 50% completion percentage. Give up only a couple of longer passes. Run protection was were we were hurt last night mainly cause we took bad angles. I think our coverage was pretty good, I just think it was accentuated by the numerous pass interference calls.

No official word as to why but honestly I don't trust Fields.

Don't see why. He hasn't played enough to gain or lose trust at this point. He looked like our best CB last night.

His mentality. Worries me with how talented he is and he hasn't played much as you said. It's gotta be mental or work ethic. Kid is very talented but it just worries me that with all that talent he hardly sees the field.

The transition from HS to college is very difficult at that position, and it's arguably even harder going from college to the NFL. It takes time to sharpen technique, become comfortable with the scheme, and develop the confidence to handle faster, stronger WRs, among other things.
Fields did a good job last night, all things considered. He often found himself in man coverage against Tate, who's 6'5".

Fields' biggest issue is ball skills.

He can stick to WRs like glue due to his incredible athleticism. However he rarely gets his head around and locates the ball. With the way refs are taught to call PI and DH that makes him a weakness against teams that will challenge us through the air.

He should be playing like him or nor. Fields is better than Ryan Carter.

Fields is a better athlete than Edmonds and carter. We need him when we face explosive receivers. He overall played pretty well. I hope he continues to take the majority of reps. Tank is the one who played awful
