Did you just hear the GC say that Doc shot the course record in the Monday qualifier!!!!! Wow! In the record books - posted in the clubhouse smack in the middle of b1g country! Love It.

so we'll talk about his round . . .
He was -4 on the front and had moved up into a tie for 6th . . . but the back nine halted his charge as he shot 2 over par and slid to a tie for 41st
It's fun getting to see Doc hit a few shots this weekend!!!

Yep, thought Kyle was headed for something special. I want to say when I looked earlier this week, Kyle was 41 in fed ex points and Lucas was 80. Both should be in good shape. Sam’s not in the top 125... As @marshall had posted earlier, Sam needs to get going to secure his status next year.

Doc needed one more roll on 18. Bogeys cost him on 10 and 11 but not going to complain about a 67. Should get tons of air time tomorrow!!!!!
Way to go Doc. Shoot a 63 tomorrow and bring this bad boy home!!!!

Lots of birdies flying around today . . . Snedeker, Stuard, Reed and Tringale have all fired 7 under pars today . . . It'll be a shoot out for sure tomorrow!!!
Proud of Doc for fighting back on the back nine!!!
(Looks like Kyle will be in a tie for 39th when it all shakes out today.)

Doc could be setting himself up for a nice run. A top ten gets him into the 3M, of course, and I expect him to receive a sponsor's exemption to the John Deere. The Deere usually gives its exemptions to guys like Doc in hopes that they will remember it and return to support the tournament in future years.

Did not know that about the 3M. Doesn’t a top 10 automatically get him in this tournament again next year. He’s definitely got the game... as does Nimmer. Hopefully the next wave of Tiger Golfers!!!!
Will be interesting to see how many of the guys at top can hold out tomorrow. Got a couple veterans up close.
Doc tees off third to last group. Lots of air time!

A top ten gets a player into the next full field event. That doesn't apply to majors or invitationals like Bay Hill, the Memorial, etc.

Thanks for clarifying that for me. I was also thinking that a top 10 or maybe even a top 25 for this tournament automatically got you qualified for this tournament next year.

That's probably true. I know that's the case for the majors, so it probably applies to regular tour events.
