And answer this objectively. Do we beat the coots this year? Based on what you have seen from both teams. What do you think?

Instead of jumping to conclusions and calling you a coot ill just ask you why? What exactly have you seen from the coots to make you think they are a better team than us? They've struggled against mediocre competition all season. We don't have to play our best offensive game against the coots to win comfortably, there is absolutely no reason we can beat them by 2 scores.

USuC is going to play well. They are not going to let us walk all over them. Tajh and co. have to show that the streak ends now. If Tajh relaxes and the O line picks up the blitz he should be able to find open guys all night. The problem is the relax and o line are both big ifs.
Go Tigers!

Yes 2 scores, USuCk has barely beaten mediocre at best competition, they lost to Tennessee for gods sakes. I love this board most people in here are great fans and support clemson as well as anyone could ask, but #### people USuCk has not looked good at all this year, they are no where near the caliber team they have been the past 4 years. If we lose this game it should be viewed as about the same as if we were to lose to someone like Boston college earlier in the year, who is pretty good this season. I truly believe we will pretty well handle this game, not looking through orange colored glasses but from a perspective of if I were someone who didnt pull for either team, clemson has looked much better on both sides of the ball. Maybe not the offensive line at times and running back as of late, but still an overall better looking team.

usuc has a very good d line.james davis bro will run wild on us.and our secondary cant cover to save their lives. the last four years they have struggled against weak teams but seem to have no trouble beating us.we ourselves have struggled against weak teams.see nc state,bc and maryland.heck our inconsistent first string offense couldnt score against sc state.

I'm beginning to think you're one of the armchair quarterbacks that think tajh boyd should be benched and cole stoudt be named starter but I won't get into that. I can see perhaps nc state or bc but Maryland??
Clemson 40 Maryland 27. Usuck 35 Vandy 25
Clemson 26. Nc state 16(clusterfu** of a game.). Jr. 35 Kentucky 28 Clemson 24. Boston college 14. USCjr 28. Ucf 25
Regardless of what you say we've beaten every team by 2 possessions where as usuck has had to pull a horshoe out of their ### to beat the same caliber teams. Maybe you should take the garnet glasses off before you look at it?

That explains it all! The "how has that worked out the past 4 years" confirmed it. I tried to be patient and give you a chance but I'm sure anyone here can see that you're a very bored coot troll. I should have known by the generic tgrfan name.

Even if the teams are even, and they apparently are not, Clemson will not beat Carolina in Columbia - the offensive line is too leaky and Carolina is peaking - but it could be close if either Shaw or Davis is not on game.

I think it just depends on what Clemson team shows up and what Carolina team will show up. They have been just as inconsistent as we have, tho its been on both sides of the ball for them. If we keep the offense going like last week and pre-BC game, then I absolutely think we should win. The D is better hands down, long as the offense doesn't turn the ball over and put the D is bad spots we should win period.

If our good Clemson team shows up and a bad USC, we win. If both good teams show up, it'll be close.
Either way, predictions are for psychics and the media. The game has to be played.

What the heck does the SC St game have to do with anything? That's embarrassing to even refer to that game as anything.

Tgrfan42069 you say take our orange colored glasses off yet you can't take your garnet ones off. Clemsons first offense did score against SC State second the Tiger run D held I think the 2nd or 3rd leading rusher in the country to 70 yards against a much bigger offensive line. The Tiger defense is what the big difference is between the past 2 years and the 2 years prior to that we didn't have a offense this is the first year we can actually say we have as close to a complete team as we have had in a while. Has the offense struggled absolutely but the D has held serve til the offense has gotten going. We have gave up more than 14 points twice this year one was the FSU game Tajh couldn't get out of his on way and you can't ask the defense to hold a team like that when the offense is going 3 and out all game it is bound to hurt them and then the Maryland game when the D gave up the 2 touchdowns in garbage time oh yeah and the Georgia game which the coots didn't fare to well in. The run D is giving up 140 the pass D is giving up about 223 a game which I is light years ahead of where we were but you don't care about facts how about you do a little research before coming on a Clemson site spewing things that only make sense Lin your own head idiot. As far as the game it's hard for me to believe that the Clemson seniors will allow anything but the best against your coots I see the Tigers winning by 10 only because the Tigers aren't use to losing this much to the coots so I think the whole Tiger team realizes what this game means to the seniors and will lay everything on the line which I haven't seen them do the past 4 years.

Kinda hard when you're playing with 3rd and second string offensive line just running halfback draws and occasional streak/ slant routes.

Any given night or day a team can lose and it don't matter who they have lost to. The coots are a good team. We are a good team. They have homefield but we use to own that crap hole. If both teams play well it comes down to coaching and turnovers. All I know is this is a MUST win game for Dabo. Bcs is nice but this game is far more important from a fan standpoint. 5 in a row is not an option here.

I see this game as a battle of wills....

Steve Spurrier will definitely want the honor of being the first coach in SC history to claim a five-peat and will pull out all the stops, again attacking our weaknesses. Count on psychological warfare on his part prior to the game.
Dabo Swinney knows the Clemson fan base is up in arms over the four-peat and will have to outthink Spurrier, shoring up our weaknesses while attacking theirs: getting after either Shaw or Thompson early, while stopping their running, including Shaw's ability to run.
Chad Morris will have to bring his A+ game, striking quickly and often by opening up the game with our receivers to pile up points in the first half. I just don't think a running attack will win this one.
Most importantly, if we can go into halftime with a two or three TD lead, our staff and team leaders will have to convince themselves to remember what happened to Missouri. Those Tigers thought they had the game won and let down their guard...and we know what happened thence.
Lastly, our staff and team will have to discount the four prior and convince themselves that they can win. That'll be difficult; however, here's the catch: a Frank Howard coached team in the 50's faced the same hurdle. They found a way to overcome it...and we won the next three.
The fact that both Clemson and South Carolina are fielding better teams makes the rivalry game more interesting and worthy of greater national focus.
