a true fan or a glutton for punishment. It's 22 years of groundhog day. I've watched 100 games, live and on TV, just like this NC State game tonight, just change the unis on the opponent. It leaves you exhausted and angry. Then a few days later, I'm watching again. One day, maybe this program will do some great things. It just seems for Clemson basketball, "one day" never comes.

They should have supported OP on the things that he asked for. Clemson was on the rise and the exposure was being placed at Little John arena.

Chalk me up as both. Based on past trends - if I live another 60 years I'll only see Clemson win 4 more games at Duke and none at Chapel Hill, but I'll be watching all of them. We might be having at rough season, but at least we full on own the Coots at basketball in the last decade.

I find it easier to follow Clemson Basketball than Clemson Baseball.
Basketball has a lot going against it. Baseball should be winning Championships.

when my aging body allows it, and I will continue to watch the Tigers as long as I can. I don't find the frustration of Tiger basketball much different than knowing we are going to probably screw the pooch at least once or twice in football each year. We've done it every year since 1981 and I guess every year before!

Then you can upset teams like #1 Duke in the "John".
Those wins are so, so sweet !

regarding the basketball team. Yeah, we all know. Times are tough, but it really isn't that bad. We are 2-3 in the ACC with 2 of those losses coming from top 25 teams. Sure, we played like #### in those losses, but we've managed to pick it back up for the next game.
So quit your whining and come out to Littlejohn and get loud. Even though your idea of getting loud is probably snapping down the street to some West Side Story track.
So tuck the sack back, and come out to support the team. We are better than most people think.
GO TIGERS!

if we win in BBall we love it, but don't get wrecked about it like Dook, Kansass or Cuntucky. I'll take 'bama's success in BBall and FBall any day and hat tip the roundballers.

home games during my years at CU in the 60's. Most "Rats" had no choice but to attend games, as the upperclassmen would scour the halls, "ordering" us to attend...and old Fike would be filled. Also, there was little to do off-campus, and that contributed to attendance. When LJ was built, we thought we had graduated into the big time and were impressed (to say the least) that we could boast of such a facility. Still, at Clemson the main focus was on football, so few got traumatized over so-so BB seasons.
Although primarily a football school, I've never believed there is any reason why we can't develop a good BB program. It will take a firm commitment from the BOT on down through the ranks, the Alumni Association and, just as importantly, from the students themselves, beginning with the student leadership. Perhaps, the first admission must be that we haven't had a good tradition, which will require an attitude adjustment, then a willingness to commit whatever resources are necessary toward building a tradition of excellence.
I haven't been in LJ since my days as a student; thus, I can't speak knowledgably about the viability of the facilities. However, I do know this: all facilities at some point suffer functional obsolescence, and that's why new facilities are planned. I, also, know that the capabilities of the staffs are key, which begs the question: Is Coach Brownell the answer? Hopefully so; however, if not, then we will have to make a commitment to seek out, spend the money and hire a staff with a track record of winning among the big boys.
I've read numerous complaints about student participation, seating, etc. at LJ. I will only say this: as far as I'm concerned, the students should have the best seating in the house, immediately courtside and well-positioned to provide the best support for our team...period. Anything less is unsatisfactory. That being said, I refer to my previous comments about student leadership: it should be a direct responsibility of the student body president to gather all student leaders and find ways to increase attendance...and frankly, there is no excuse for failure to do so.
Lastly, I simply will not engage in negatively criticizing our current BB staff and team, because of my lack of BB knowledge. I am happy when we win, disappointed but not disjointed when we lose. However, as with all Clemson programs, I'll say: GO TIGERS!!!!

actually pretty good. I was impressed we could play with NCst for 40 min.
We do suck at making plays in the last minute of a close game, which will haunt us. But over the last two weeks we have shown that we can play with anyone in the league, sans Duke. But considering that NCst beat Duke, maybe there's hope there. But probably not. If our guys could finish around the rim we would have killed State, we took a lot more shots than they did.
You just have to have proper expectations. start at 0-30 and everything is gravy.

home game when I attended Clemson (well, maybe a couple).
But you're right, if you told me that Booker was going to score 27 vs. NCState, I would have replied - "That means the rest of the team is going to go 5 for 40 from the field." It comes from experience.
