that further makes a complete mockery of the NCAA. Players should not be allowed to transfer from one school on probabtion to another. So basically the NCAA stripped USC of a bunch of scholarships over a four year period (through the end of the 2013 season) but they will be able to take one of the best RB's in the country without the scholarship counting against their reduced allotment. I'm sure ole Lane Kiffin has a nice sack of money waiting for Redd when they meet today, unreal.

Congrats NCAA another job well done!

I don't blame them at all for using a loophole to get an extra player.

I don't like them, but I'd hope we'd do the same in their situation. They're doing everything they can without breaking any rules.

It would count against their scholarship total for next year. Meaning they would have to give out one less scholarship next year (assuming nobody quits, leaves, etc.)

USC (the real one) is redundant. The only reference the coots get is USuCk

and somehow has them playing for each other/us against the world, etc.. Not one player or coach at PSU had anything to do with this mess and O'Brien said that he walked through the parking lot yesterday and there were University of Illinois coaches waiting there to talk to his players. His comment was something to the effect of "all i ask is that they give me a professional courtesy before they talk to one of my players". i cannot imagine being in that situation where your program can be poached. I wish him nothing but the best and if he can hold it down and keep them together he deserves every award in the coaching business. Meanwhile i hope Curley, Schultz and Spanier do serious time for the travesty they created.

The extra scholarship allowance is for one year only

Schools who use it have to be back inside the 85 limit for the 2013-14 school year. All it really means is that they are using one of their available 2013 offers for the 2012 season.

It's still a benefit but not as big as many think. If they didn't do it, transferring PSU players could only consider schools that were already below the 85 limit for this year.
