CFP 4 after next week
Nov 28, 2016, 1:13 AM

I honestly think the committee will weigh the conference championship heavily. If Washington beats Colorado by 10 and we beat VT by 10 I think it will be as follows:
1. Bama (why do they have to be so good?!?) 2. Clemson 3. Washington 4. Ohio St (I know they are ranked 2 but won't win conference at the end of the day and Penn St/Wisc just won't look good enough and have the resume to jump Ohio St)
This week Ohio st will still be at 2, hell Michigan might even stay at 4. It's clearly a week by week ranking.

If your assuming Washington wins over Colorado heres my take. If they lose my alternative thoughts. I dont see how OSU gets in if Wash and Penn St win.
As of this week-
1. Bama 2. OSU 3. Clemson 4. Washington
Final CFP
1. Bama 2. Clemson 3. Washington 4. Penn St if they win- Oh St if Wisc wins
1. Bama 2. Clemson 3. Penn St if they win Big 10 or OSU if Wisc wins 4. Big 10 Champ or OSU see above

I hope they value champions as they should.

I hope the committee values champions as they should. Ohio State did not earn one and should not be in the final four over teams that do. If you can't win your own conference, you did not prove you are one of the best teams in the country.

By your 'value' definition, then only conference champions should make it?
Does this apply for all other sports as well? So baseball and hoops should turn back the clock and only have conference champs?

Neal, he said "then only conference champs should be in the playoffs"? He didn't say which conference champ did not make the playoffs.

Michigan should be done. Loss late in season. If Washington and us win out, we in along w Bama and let the rest fight it out. Probably O St.

That's silly. If Bama lose this week, no way in hell they should not be considered. They are clearly one of the 4 best teams in college football and they don't need an SEC title to prove that.
Bama is a lock OSU is a lock Clemson is a lock if they win The final spot will be given to either BIG10 champ or Washington. The Huskies are in real damage of not making it, but I think after being left out last year there will be pressure to include them.
The bigger question is the seedings.

Buckeye Tiger, what happens if Wisconsin beats Penn State in the Championship game. Are they in the CFP? They lost to Michigan and Ohio State, but beat Penn State, who beat Ohio State but lost to Michigan really bad, and Pitt (Clemson's only loss). To me, Wisconsin and Michigan are out regardless! If Penn State wins the Champ game, I still feel they are out because they have two losses, one to Michigan and one to Pitt. The final, if Washington wins, will be as follows"
Bama Clemson OSU Washington
We beat OSU, again, and Bama beats Washington, and we have Clemson / Bama in the Championship game with Clemson winning that game!
CLEMSON IS THE NATIONAL CHAMPION!!!

Sure, I think Wisconsin will get a look if they win. They would have a home loss to Ohio State in OT, and a road loss to Michigan, both by 7. They would have ranked wins against Penn State, LSU, Iowa, and Nebraska.
Washington would have a relatively bad home loss to USC, and ranked wins against Colorado and Stanford, with arguably a weaker schedule.
I don't look for the Huskies to be left out. I think there will be too much pressure from the PAC and the committee probably likes a diverse field (not 2 from same conference if they can help it). I just personally see a 1 loss Washington on equal footing with a 2 loss BIG champ and if anyone is going to miss the cut, it will be them and not OSU.

T_I_P, I believe that I would rather play Ohio State first (we know how to beat them) and let Bama deal with the wide open, unpredictable, offense of Washington.
