I hope everyone doesn’t think it is DJ U that is off in offense

More than it is the offensive line that seemingly gets man handled by talented teams. LSU, OSU and now Georgia. I’d be running for my life and throwing inaccurately too when I have a line that can’t push for the run and protect for the pass!

PTSD!
***Keeping it light*** LOL!
It might be! I.E. the old timers use to call it: "shell shocked"! Due to past experiences the reaction to seemingly mondane events triggers over the top reaction!
Seriously though; I get what you are saying and agree "mostly"! DJU and every QB that's ever been a household name have to sometimes "know they will get hit" but still throw good catchable passes. He has NFL aspirations and will have to get use to perhaps playing behind a makeshift OL(see Trevor Lawrence or any Jets QB the past 10 years).
A solid run game helps any QB! A solid run game makes a good QB look great! I think DJU is pressing a bit! He looked great last year and his name has been brought up as a potential Heisman candidate during the preseason. Once he settles down; I think the offense will get back to being it's normal explosive self.
Some of his passes were "air-mailed" and the receiver had no chance to even make an attempt. That is what's troubling me to be honest.
Again, mostly agree, the OL being somewhat pourous is probably causing him to "look at the rush" instead of looking downfield and using good mechanics!

Shell shocked means one thing! Quarter backs need good arms, legwork etc but in reality the thing that sets good QB’s apart is what’s between his ears. DW could be down 2 touchdowns with 4 minutes left in the 4th quarter and he had the mental stability to not let it get him. We’ve had several Like KB and TB that just didn’t have it. Time will tell if DJ can correct it but that’s the problem, it ain’t his arm

I’m no expert but I play one on this board. His mechanics do look off. An overthrow is usually an indication of not stepping in and following through. It’s like a hitch in a golf swing… you just have to work it out.

Really strange vs our expectations this year. Let's hope DJ gets it together even if the problems are more the fault of the OL. I hope he can react.

Less pressure than meaningful snaps during the game. At that point both teams are just trying to get out with further injuries!

He’s playing about right for a young QB, we’ve just been spoiled with generational talent at that position. Last year, he was playing with no expectations and therefore no pressure. This year is different. But he’ll be fine. He’ll still be running for his life a lot, but he’ll be fine.

So he looks like a generational talent as a true freshman against Notre Dame but then he stinks it up as a sophomore and suddenly it’s because he’s a young player? Your logic is beyond flawed. Because your comment was completely illogical and divorced from facts and reality. We have a body of work to compare him to. We’re comparing him to himself from last season.
I think Levon Kirkland knows a little something about football what can you say? And he thinks DJ is not looking all that great either!

But the OLine did its job vs Jawja. not super great but good enough. 4-5 of the sacks were 5 seconds after the snap. Other than the DE rolling inside and causing issues on a few plays, our Olline played better than Jawja's but they had a QB releasing the ball in 3 seconds.
The issue was that DJ was holding the ball and only had eyes downfield. An OLine can't protect a QB from indecision. DJ needed to ID the lane he had and take off on at least 3 of those sacks.
DJ is fine, he is a young QB that is learning. he will get there. He was just trying to play like a 3rd year veteran in his 3rd game.
Most DC have at least some film on him to gameplan. He is almost a 2nd year on tape but 1 year on experience. I think TE needs to make it a bit easier on him while he learns. He kept looking for down field options when TE needed to serve up some quick dumps to get DJ reacting, not thinking.

Several of the sacks in the GA game were his fault.
There was running room and he didn't run.
He couldn't find open receivers and overthrew ones he did find.
The OL wasn't great, but with slightly better QB play we win the game.
With significantly better QB play we blow GA out.

Djs main problem is he stands flat footed in the pocket. He had time on many plays in the Georgia game to throw the ball or hit a wide open hole. However he stood there like a statue in concrete and took a sack. Trevor was great at moving in the pocket and buying time. When things broke down he knew when to break the pocket. Dj will learn this but it will take some games.
