I'm not satisfied that our offense is doing much of what it is capable of doing but those of us calling for replacing our OC are suffering from 'the grass is greener on the other side of the fence,' syndrome, imo. But, that's just the fruit of the problem. The root of the issue with some of us is...
Proverbs 27:7 "The full soul loatheth an honeycomb; but to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet."

Wouldn't be hard to find greener grass when your offense is ranked 122 out of a total of 130 FBS teams. Anyone who suggests replacing offensive staff is not whining at this point. You need to be realistic.

The Akron Zips, Toledo Rockets, UTSA Roadrunners, UTEP Miners, and Charlotte 49ers are running circles around us.. but by all means lets don't question the Clemson offense because that is just mean.

As TigerNet1988's attorney, I rest the case. That comparison to other teams is maybe the most ignorant post I have seen. Do you actually believe any of those teams are better than we are?

No they are not as talented Valley Boy, and that's the point. I rest my case as to why the offensive coaches need to be questioned. Clearly you agree with me so what is your point?

We pay Elliott $2 million a year.

His raise earlier this year made him the highest paid offensive coordinator in college football.
We can easily find a highly qualified candidate should we choose to go in a different direction. It's a really attractive job for someone who wants to work for Dabo Swinney and game plan using elite athletes.

So your answer is to throw your hands up in exasperation and do nothing? The answer to your question is go pick someone who matches the culture.. Dabo has his choice of anyone he wants. The fact you think no one wants to come here shows how out of touch you are, thank goodness you are not running the athletic dept or we would be running a Wing T and Power I.

Monday motivational series:
Adversity is part of the journey. Dabo stresses to enjoy the journey because it's easier to get to the top of the mountain than to stay there year in and year out.

Good post. Kind of goes to a question posted recently asking if Dabo is more interested in developing people than football players.
Unfortunately, I am feeling this applies to the USA as well
"Only when you're on the brink of losing it all, will you have the determination and fortitude to change the course!"
The country is a long way from being on the brink, but bad things can happen exponentially fast. The USA is not immune to collapsing into obscurity.

I think Dabo is more interested in developing people than players, but at the same time he knows where the bread is buttered. Sometimes I think the entire development of players can become a flaw because he may focus on a walk-on with a great attitude vs. pure talent. More times than not his assessments are correct though.
We are in extraordinary times and I am not going to make it political, but people can see with their own eyes that narratives are not lining up. Things just don't seem dare I say copacetic and there is a storm brewing that's going to be Biblical.

Addressing the football portion of this thread...

I can say that differentiating between spiritual the spiritual body, the physical body and the development of skill are all one process for Dabo and anyone worth to handle children and develop and direct them toward become men.
The Bible plainly tells us to serve our masters (bosses, teacher, coaches and any in authority over us) whole heartedly not with eyes service, as men pleasers but as unto God. Anyone wondering why we have two national championships and a handful of playoff appearances might want to consider this. Dabo, Tony, Brandon, Brent and Mickey all put this kind of love into the process and almost always get a like response from our players.
Two things fail you in life, one is luck and the other BS. By the end of the season we will see this team grow into full blossom. Note the dumpers on here and remember to be kind to them when they decide to get back on board.

I share your belief that we will see our team blossom

by the end of the season.
However, that will only happen because significant changes occur from the top down: coaches and players.
There is no way that continuing to do what we have done thus far in the 2021 season will result in the blossoming we both expect.

We are seeing a new defensive scheme that came from Iowa that teams are using to stop the football on grass throwing it all over the field philosphy Georgia and Georgia Tech both used it We are going to see it again at NC State as they will only use 3 defensive linemen most of time Our scheme has been checked At the same time of this we are breaking in a fairly you g O line QB RB playing Ross out of position Our off Cord is slowly trying to catch up to this change on defense We will adjust It is just how long it will take It might cost us a few losses this year At same time Offenses have learned not to tip Venables off to what they are running They come out of huddle late then change their formation trying to catch us out of position

I don't think it's appropriate to call for Elliott's job
Sep 20, 2021, 4:26 PM
|

right now, but I do think it's appropriate to call for something better than we've seen from our offense recently.
Elliott is the highest paid offensive coordinator in college football, right?
Elite recruiting classes + championship coaches + best facilities in the nation should equal more than 3 points against Georgia and 14 points against Georgia Tech.
We shouldn't have major issues executing our offense - ESPECIALLY not against some of the poor defenses we have played recently.
But if we do, we should have the talent and expertise to be able to make adjustments.
People are frustrated by the apparent lack of concern from the coaches regarding our offense. Whether intentional or not, they are giving off the impression that things are fine. And anyone with any football sense whatsoever can see that things are NOT fine.

I’m hoping that is just the external facing position and Dabo is keeping the fire & brimstone in-house.
We’ll see how they come out against NCST. Not necessarily just in regards to offensive execution, but I want to see everyone finishing blocks and getting nasty. They need to come out pissed-off and bury a second tier program like NCST.
Yeah, I know they have a lot of starters back and this is supposed to be their big year, but they got punked by Mississippi State and we need to remind Dorren where his place is. I do expect another close game though.

I agree. The reluctance for the coaching staff to admit a problem is the most frustrating part especially since everyone can see it. To be fair, yes, too early to call for Elliot's job, but if he refuses to change we have to move on. The product on the field is worse than Billy Napiers offenses so far.
