How much longer does Caldwell get to prove he can coach?

Oct 26, 2014, 3:12 PM

All we heard when Caldwell was hired was how good of an O-line coach he is. He is now in his 4th season as our OL coach and the results are the same each season. The most shocking thing to me is the complete lack of basic fundamentals this far into his tenure.

Look who he's had to work with

That's not really on him. He's involved with recruiting, but it's all divided up by territory. Venebles has helped land some offensive recruits, for example.

I believe he has done more with less than anyone else could have.

I might agree but we will find out when the all the 4 star O linemen get here next year.

We have had plenty of 4 star linemen in his 4 years here***

We have brought in plenty of talent...

keep up with recruiting. We have been recruiting just as good at Oline as we have all other positions. Tired of this lame excuse for Caldwell. 4 years, and this years line has been the worst yet. And no don't bring up the injuries. We have had injuries on defense too, and continue to play great. Our Oline play like they are stuck in quick sand. Terrible footwork, terrible fundamentals. Before coming to Clemson, Caldwell had never coached at a good football program. There was a reason why he was at Vanderbilt for 11 seasons.

Well this is definitely wrong

OL is the one area where we haven't recruited very well until this year.

That line is being held together with ducktape and icy hot.***

Oct 26, 2014, 4:03 PM

Probably as long as the team wins 10 & 11or more each year.

He has proven it as far as I am concerned.

Oct 26, 2014, 4:09 PM

Until he is given better and more OLine recruits, hard to complain. Injuries have hurt us at oline

This so the worst line he's has

Oct 26, 2014, 4:47 PM

It's not like it's been like this every year he's been here.
