If Noland doesn’t commit to Clemson what would be next?

If Clemson misses on Noland that would mean that every QB Clemson has offered in 24 would be a whiff.
What would be next? Seems like missing on Walker White really set Clemson behind I think everyone involved with Clemson thought he was a lock.

Maybe but realistically Vizzina needs to be the backup for Klubnik. If Clemson can get back to putting opponents away, getting Vizzina game experience would be awesome

Could be wrong, but I think that someone posted on here that with Helms doing really good as a QB, that Vizzina was Redshirting, not a 100%, but pretty sure that's what I read.

There was a practice report that came out last week where Dabo said Helms is the clear cut back up right now.
Vizzina is next in line though clearly. And if there’s ever chances to prepare him to be the next guy, you realize that and get him experience when you can. Helms is probably a great kid, does everything the right way, but Vizzina should get reps when possible and be as ready as possible to be the next QB1. And that’s assuming that Klubnik is THE GUY. Still not sold on that, he looked good against UNC but every QB with a pulse did

Vizzina is next in line though clearly. And if there’s ever chances to prepare him to be the next guy, you realize that and get him experience when you can. My prediction for the 2023 season concerning Helms and Vizzina:
1. Helms will start at #2 on the depth chart and probably keep it unless Vizzina becomes our version of NFL Josh Allen.
2. Vizzina will play but most likely remain eligible to RS.
Looking at the schedule, he'll most likely get some playing opportunities in these games and hopefully 2 more games down the line where we empty the benches:
- Charleston Southern on September 9th
- FAU on September 16th

Concerning Klubnik, of course, I'm anxious to see how he'll look at the Spring Game, but I'm thinking he's going to be okay. He wants to win and appears to be stepping up as one of the leaders of this team which the O has been sorely lacking since TL and ETN left town.
His freshman pains we witnessed in the Orange Bowl don't concern me at this time -- I think Garrett is going to right the ship on O and the new system will be a welcome sight for both the players and fans.

I think a new OC could make a big difference for a lot of players, think you’re spot on there.
It’s one thing to be a vocal leader, at some point somebody has gotta step up and be the guy that makes plays and is the unquestioned leader without having to talk. Think that could be both RBs too, some games just need to let them go to work and don’t worry about how it looks
Tennessee game for Klubnik, and not really Klubnik but everybody, looked like Clemson was a step slower and a lot less aggressive and physical. Klubnik looked like he thought he could turn the corner on everybody and didn’t realize how fast linebackers are
Really want to see the whole offense stop worrying about being comfortable and like everything is a walk through, be the aggressors and make a play.

We actually held their potent offense in check, well below the season's average in yardage. They had ONE sistained drive. ONE. Our ONLY issues were 3 long passes and broken coverages leading directly to TDs, and of course our redzone flops (not on playcalling).
UT did a lot of exotic blitzing not previously shown on film. They did get after Cade a good bit, but matters were made FAR worse when Cade ran backwards instead of stepping up in the pocket.
Other than that, what did you see that could possibly be termed as a "step slower" and all that? That is NOT the way the game played out, at all.

What they need to do is implement some way to go out and get a QB that could come in and bridge the gap for maybe a year or so. If college football could come up with something like that it could help us out.

Everything in my OP was a fact. Clemson has missed on every QB they have offered in the 24 class if Noland doesn’t commit to Clemson today. There are no more offers out to QB’s in this class, but if they miss on Noland tonight, I asked who would be next. Sorry if you misread something I was stating facts and asked a question of who would be the next offer if they missed on this one too, because there definitely will be an offer to go out if Noland doesn’t commit to Clemson

There was no “situation” to begin with. We were good at RB. If we got one, fantastic, but it certainly wasn’t a need the last cycle. This cycle it is more important though.

When the last two targets for Clemson at QB committed, Noland was the first QB to get an offer with Riley as new OC. I’d say since they are still offering, it’s a need.
There’s a big difference in the kids that come to campus and take the pictures and do the tours, and the ones who ride on the golf cart with the coaches and end up in Dabo’s office talking to him.

Just trying to help you understand that Clemson has offered 5 QB’s, 4 are committed to other schools, the last one announces tonight, so I asked who would be the next offer, which has been the trend when another the others committed to other schools Clemson follows up with an offer to another QB. But according to you and another guy that “don’t know, don’t care”, Clemson is just sending out offers now to kids they don’t really want, and that’s what Clemson has been doing at running back too.

I’m saying there is a difference between a “need” and a “want”. We’d love to have Noland, but he is not a “need”. We have 5 QBs on the roster, 3 of which are 4 stars or higher, and only two of which are upperclassmen, backups Hunter Helms (RS Jr) and Paul Tyson (RS Sr). Look, I hope we get Noland tonight, but it is not critical we land him. And yes, we make committable offers to players we don’t “need” all the time. But if we have room on the roster, they fit our culture, and they are great players, of course we’ll offer. The stars don’t always align perfectly, players that check all the boxes don’t always graduate high school the same cycle we have a need at their position, but you still would love to get them so you offer. See RB recruiting the last cycle.

You’ve tried every technique you can think of to deflect when all you had to do was provide evidence to support either of your claims. You provided none. I can’t trust you any longer, but I am certain you will respond with something other than evidence of your claims that the staff considered Noland a “need” or I said I don’t know or care about recruiting in this thread.

And the difference between you and me in this thread, I haven’t presented the thoughts or words of others as fact without being able to show my work. That’s how I knew my gut was right about your OP, that it was a subtle troll and knock on the staff. I even offered an apology if I misread the OP. That would have been the end, but you went on to make a claim about the staff considering Noland a need as fact. You, nor I, know what the recruiting board looks like. All we know is who has been offered, and what the current roster looks like. You may feel he’s a need. You may think the staff considers him a need. The numbers suggest a QB is not a need this cycle, but again, I don’t have access to the recruiting board. But if you’re going to state the staff considers him a need, and have 0 evidence, other than he has an offer and a golf cart ride, then you are just surmising, and presenting the things you surmised as the thoughts or words of the staff. And you doubled down by lying about what I said. 100% false, you just made it up. And lying about one thing in a thread doesn’t help your credibility on the other issues.
In conclusion, an offer can indicate a want or need, but an offer by itself is not evidence of one over the other. And you have been prone to mislead others in this thread by making false claims. Those are facts. The rest of this long, boring, thread is you deflecting because you have not been able to support your claims with receipts and are down to hoping to be able to claim the last word as some level of victory.

It would be hard to get any quarterback to commit with a sophomore starter and a highly rated freshman on the roster. Means you aren’t looking at any playing time for at least 2 years. Possibly 3.
