I picked up a copy of Havilah Babcock's book

Tales of Quails'n Such several years back at an auction. Turned out the book was signed by Babcock. It said

" To a companion of R.Z. Cotes who never missed a shot - when hunting alone!"

Spent hours in the fields with a good friend and a couple of good dogs will Really appreciate it. My favorite story was the one where he talks about the guy thatvinvited himself to " step in with them" and hunt a covey ir two and after he busted about 5 "buhds " on the civey rise...Haviland asked him,"Pahtner..do you practice the monocular or BINOCULAR SYSTEM OF SHOOTIN?"....


I wonder how many people on here even know what he qas asking.......
