“goal-line stand away from losing” ???

Its dumb that writers keep going with this narrative (this one from an N&O article): “The Tigers were a goal-line stand away from losing at home to Georgia Tech”
Did GT have a double-secret 3 pt PAT play no one knows about?

I liked WC until he through us under the Country and the Military under the bus after we wipe the country pretty clean with the VC and North Vietnam Regulars. All LBJ had to do is get the he$$ out of the Military’s way and bombed North Vietnam back to the Stone Age.
LBJ was a Coward and because of his politics he got a lot of American Soldiers needlessly Killed.
I know this is not a football subject but Walter’s photo prompted my post.
Go Tigers on Saturday. I hope the fan support is great. I know the coaches and players will give their best.

reporting results.. stats, showing highlights.
Then it became 24/7 of everybody and the brother's "expert " opinion.
Now a days it is clear they are pushing agendas thru sports.

The Tigers will have to do their "talking" on the field this week. The narrative will change if the offense gets 30 pts or more against NCS.

The final score was 14-8. If GT gets in the end zone on the shuttle pass play the score is 14-14. (8+6=14) then the PAT would have made the score GT 15 - Clemson 14. So Clemson was one score away from losing Saturday. Please check my mafph.

It wasn't 14-8 when we made the goal line stand...

The goal line stand happened prior to the safety, so the score was 14-6 at the time. A score and 2-pt conversion sends it into OT, doesn't give them the win is what I believe the poster is talking about.

Exactly. At the point in time the goal-line stand was made the safety wasn’t on the board, and wouldn’t have happened. Had they tied the game on a 2 pt conversation, we would’ve had the Hail Mary chance to win or else go to overtime where I still would’ve expected us to come out on top.

The score was 14-6 at the that time. If they had scored it would have been 14-12 or 14-13 with a 2 pt conversion. You can't count the safety if they score a TD.

The score was 14-6 when the shovel pass happened.
We stopped the play short of the line to gain which gave the ball to our offense.
Then we fumbled and recovered in the end zone for a safety.
After the score became 14-8 we kicked off to them and they had 2 futile attempts at trying to score.
The headline could accurately read that Clemson was a hail mary away from losing to GA Tech, but best case scenario for GT is that the shovel pass AND 2 point conversion would have TIED the game and forced overtime.

it was 14-6 at the point of the goal line stand, why are even on this board if you did not watch the game? The best they could do was tie, if they scored and got a 2 pt conversion...

No they don't have a secret 3 point PAT but if they scored, and it would have been a big if, and then scored a normal 2 point after td conversion, the game would have gone into OT. Care to guess which team would have the momentum?

Chad Acho said three different times on ESPN That he was picking UNC to win the ACC because they had already beaten Clemson a couple of years ago.

It’s been more than a couple years ago since UNC beat Clemson, if I weren’t to lazy I’d look it up.... my guess is 10-12 years....
