They won last year with their mercenaries but they didn't BEAT us. We beat ourselves despite being the better team in that game.

I mean, we've got an Elite 11 Winner MVP on our team and we're still waiting for the breakout season. Likely one of those guys won't be there. In regard to the portal, if you're needing to go that hard into the portal in year 4, you've either got a bad culture, or your recruiting hasn't panned out. It's one thing to use it to plug holes, but quite another to have to use it to overhaul your roster every year.

Once a program gets in that cycle it's hard to break out of it, and should you ever start missing on a few here and there its effects will be magnified if that's what you're having to bank on.

in 2025/26. Norvell has firmly established his portal FSU culture and that he isn't going to waste a lot of time developing players. After DJ leaves next year he will bring in another "experienced" QB just like he has with almost all of his starting lineup over the last couple of years. Norvell currently has 14 incoming transfers and he ain't paying them to sit on the bench. He is only 8 transfers away from completely filling his starting roster from outside the program...
Norvell is building a house on jello foundation and eventually his portal addiction is going to cave in...

And without question one of them will definitely leave …especially when Norvell pulls another portal QB after DJU exhausts eligibility…

Best recruiting money can buy. It's a sad state of affairs in college football. I feel sorry for the actual smart students who have to beg for a simple scholarship to help offset the high cost of college.
Some of these athletes already have full rides, and now on top of that they get paid to play. This is so screwed up. The people who will actually make a difference in society get nothing and have to pay, while the entertainers (players) pay nothing and get paid for doing what they want.
