CLEMSON, S.C. – Following their historic performances this past season, four Tigers are continuing their careers on the pitch as Hal Hershfelt, Makenna Morris, Halle Mackiewicz and Caroline Conti were all selected in the 2024 NWSL draft on Friday evening.

With the No. 5 pick, the Washington Spirit selected Hershfelt as she was the first Tiger to be selected in the 2024 draft. The graduate had an impressive season for Clemson as she played in 24 matches and clocked over 1,900 minutes played. Hershfelt was named to the First Team All-ACC and was listed on the NCAA All-Tournament Team, following her performance in Clemson’s first-ever College Cup appearance. In her five seasons at Clemson, Hershfelt has made an everlasting impact in a Tiger uniform.

The Spirit had their eyes on the Tigers as the club selected Morris as the No. 13 pick. Morris, who led Clemson in points (26) and goals (10), was a key-player in the back line as the defender helped lead the Tigers to 14 total shutouts. After her dominating performances, Morris was named to the First Team All-ACC and was crowned a Second Team All-American.

Mackiewicz, who made history all season long for the Tigers, kept her historic hot-streak going as she became the first goalkeeper to be picked up in the 2024 draft as the Kansas City Current selected the Broomfield, Co. native as their 32nd pick in the third round. Finishing the 2023 season with 13 clean sheets, Mackiewicz set the new single-season record for shutouts as she recorded 64 saves in her senior campaign. The keeper was named the 2023 ACC Goalkeeper of the Year and was listed to the First Team All-ACC. Mackiewicz was also named a Second Team All-American after her incredible season in net for Clemson.

Conti was drafted shortly after Mackiewicz as she was selected by the Bay Football Club as their 35th pick in the third round, the forward was the final Tiger to be drafted. In the 2023 season, Conti recorded 20 total points as she netted eight goals and picked up four assists for the Tigers. Named to the Third Team All-ACC, Conti was second on the team in points and goals.
