For those of you hating on Chad Morris, who do you want?

Someone that would realistically come to Clemson as an OC (aka NOT John Heisman, John Elway, or John C Calhoun), who the heck would you rather have than Morris!?
(If you say something non-committal, like "anybody!" or "John C Calhoun would do a better job!" then it's obvious you have no clue what you are talking about and don't have a clue about the game of football)
Go.
This ought to be hilarious.

No one. Morris is a great OC and would hate for him to leave. First time our offense has not progressed from the last year - but it was bound to happen at some time. I thought the BC game was one of his better called game. Happy with him and glad we are not looking for one.

Do we need to find a guy that does the same sorts of things ? If we do , why let the guy who has provided us with so much success go in the first place ? Morris is a good one.

I have a post discussing this same thing. I think Morris is fine but if he left I was saying Cameron at LSU but someone mentioned Meacham which would be a great fit IMO. Let me state that what I'm saying is totally hypothetical. I like coach Morris just wish he'd make a few adjustments and not call such bland calls sometimes.

Morris needs to evolve because many DC's have caught up with him.Our oline recruiting or lack thereof havent helped.I think in the off season he'll add more wrinkles to the offense, would love to see the I formation also.

Morris first couple of years all the previous snap motions worked perfectly but with a few years of tape on the offense now opposing defenses are now playing more discipline against us and not letting the "eye candy" fool them. So yes, he does need to retool the offense some.

Morris makes those two look second rate [here's the stats]

2014 (to date) - 98th in passing yards at 194.4 per game 28th in rushing yards at 220.9 per game 28th in points for at 35.6 per game 25th in total offense at 3322 yards of total offense and a total average of 415 yards per game
OK State and TCU's Offense under Meacham: 2013 at Ok State - 30th in passing yards at 276.8 per game 64th in rushing yards at 171.9 per game 15th in points for at 39.1 per game 35th in total offense at 5834 yards of total offense and a total average of 449 yards per game

Clemson's Offense under Morris: 2013 - 10th in Passing Yards at 333.1 per game 57th in rushing yards at 174.6 per game 9th in points for at 40.2 per game 12th in total offense at 6600 yards of total offense and a total average of 508 yards per game
2014 (to date) - 22nd in passing yards at 303.0 per game 97th in rushing yards at 137.1 per game 36th in points for at 34.6 per game 48th in total offense at 3081 yards of total offense and a total average of 440 yards per game
Keep in mind the level of defenses we have faced (FSU, Louisville, BC). The best defense LSU has faced is Wisconsin (10th) and TCU's is Minnesota (31st).
See how much better Morris is than these guys? ....even during a DOWN year?

TCU total offense in 2014 to date is number 7. I am not sure where you are getting 33.

Also, I'd love to see what Lincoln Riley does next year when he loses his QB and senior WR. If he were smart, he'd bounce after this year.
Also, stop naming position coaches.

I love these kinds of posts and discussion. Where people state opinions and instead of just going "oh you're a coot" or "your opinion is stupid" it's a fact based courteous discussion. I thank you for that. Last year I would have said Dykes but need to see a little bit more of what he does at Cal now. That team has been so up and down.

No OC matches Morris's stats. It's obvious that he is the best OC in the nation.
I cannot BELIEVE that people are going after him thinking that they know more than he does. Basically they are saying that their opinions are better than the best OC in the nation.
Geez.

I never said my opinion was better than his or anyone else's. I only brought up the discussion because so many on here seem to want Morris gone so bad they can't stand it. I do think he is a good coordinator just wish this year he would make a few more adjustments is all. I give him all the credit in the world for what he's done for the team I love. When he came in he gave us an identity we didn't have under Napier. It was like a shot in the arm of the program and we have been in the national spotlight since.

how has the CHAD done against fsu and the coots. run that up your stats pole! calling him the best oc in the country is laughable. it is easy to run up numbers playing the schools we do in the acc. wake, cuse,nc state,nc and those schools who have no defense at all. dabo could MAYBE even call plays and beat those teams with the talent we have.

I'd take Gruden. He just said he'd like to coach up the WRs. He could do that as a OC.
That would just be the best thing ever

He doesn't have to go but if you can't see that Morris does need to learn how to make adjustments in game then perhaps you do not know much about the art of football yourself. Just saying because so far when someone has given rather good alternatives you have ridiculed them. So my pick is the Chad Morris who can learn from series to series. And adjust to what the defense is giving him. If the team is tearing up the opposing defense through the air on scoring drives then don't blame the players when he calls 3 run plays up the middle and stays in shotgun when the team only needs literally half an inch for the first down and goes 3 and out. That is the OC Clemson deserves.

Not HATING just have ? on play calling When someone sitting in the stands, has never played football, knows the next play the Tigers will try then that's why I as many have ?'s Yes it's good going in with a game plan, but seems there is no What If planning M1C you know many times someone can plan, plan and re-plan then just have to go with the flow because its very hard to predict what someone else is going to do unless when it comes to Clemson O, then only ones that do not know the play before its run were not watching the game. Might be just getting another set of eyes in the press box, something needs to be addressed CM even said when DW was injured how it changed the game plan The game plan should always be to WIN

I think CM has done a good job at Clemson for the most part. There is some stuff he could change but nobody is perfect. We have seen his players get better every year under him so he is coaching them up. I just wish one year we could get the D and the O clicking at the same time. All the talent on this team and what's coming in the future is as bright as it ever has been. We are getting close to being an elite program. I say win out this season and 4 years in a row of 10 or more wins. There is not too many programs out there that can say that.
