I don’t think that most people have a problem wearing a mask because it is unbearable discomfort. The problem is we have been wearing the blasted thing for nearly 2 years now. When is the end of it because I do not intend to wear it until the day I pass.

Not keen on reading are you. “Nearly” 2 years and 2 years is a slight difference. I think we’ve wore them long enough to know the dammm things don’t work! They do not prevent the spread or even slow it down. The only way to slow it down is to stay the heyll away from people. Which no one really had done. Prove me wrong.

quite honestly, eating corn on the cob is a waste of time. I like my corn processed, and concentrated into a paste that can give me daily requirement of carbohydrates in less time.
Now if it is just a vessel to put melted butter into my mouf, we are talking a different ballgame.

There's alot of things in life that could happen to me with that .5% chance, the Severe Covid case is no diff. Some people just choose not to live in fear over it or act all doom and gloom about it. Just like you throw science in it, you could also throw math in it....everything is based on percentage and a covid death % is right there with 100's of other ways to die. That's my take

You do know you'd smell it, right?
Which particles are bigger, fart or covid?
Sure, I joke a little, but do you really believe that your Walmart mask is keeping micro air particles from freely moving in and out of your mask? The masks they are "forcing" to use are not intended to stop respiratory viruses.
And obviously they haven't.
Walmart masks are effective at only blocking larger particles such as those emitted in coughing, spitting, or sneezing. They do NOT block infected air particles. Way too small.
N95 and up is your only hope if you intend to block infected air.
I honestly thought EVERYONE KNEW THIS BY NOW?!?!

(not completely, but mostly) by people coughing and sneezing, right?
Below, you're actually admitting that masks are effective at reducing the spread of covid via the most common mode of spread.

Thats incorrect Sir.

I'm laying here in my hospital room that has people literally in the hallways due to covid overflow. I have talked to numerous real-life doctors and nurses here about this delta spread and all known facets of the virus.
As you and I seem to agree, covid transmission occurs through 3 transmission modes.
(1) inhalation of very fine aerosol particles, (2) deposition of respiratory droplets via coughing and sneezing etc, and (3) touching the virus on something then touching your mouth, nose, or eyes.
Where we don't agree and based on the numerous conversations I've had, covid is transmitted PRIMARILY through the airborne particles mode, i.e. people breathing others infected air.
The simple explanation that was given to me was, "how many people do you see walking around the grocery store coughing and sneezing on each other? They'd be lynched on the spot", another said. I thought for a few seconds, and yeah I have not ONCE seen anyone walking around coughing or sneezing. Have you?
People sure are breathing though.
Another common-sense thing that was explained was how finer airborne particles actually stay in the air longer, especially when its warmer and air is heated. It was explained that you don't have to be within 6 feet of someone in order to breathe the infected air. It tends to "float", and you could at any point be walking through an infected cloud without even seeing anyone immediately nearby.
By the same token cough and sneeze droplets are much bigger and fall relatively fast. You need to be literally cough or sneezed "on" to catch it in that transmission mode. And again, during this entire pandemic, have you ever seen anyone cough or sneeze on anyone? I haven't.
Like the professionals walking up and down these halls are saying, covid is primarily spread via breathing someone else's infected air.
And now back to the main point, which is, short of an N95 mask you are doing nothing to stop the spread the clear and most prevalent transmission mode of an AIRborne respiratory virus... AIR.
I'm not an anti-masker. Wear a mask. But please don't pretend to know better than these valiant men and women walking these halls right outside my room.
Thanks man. Go Tigers.

I would also say a lot of transition happens by touching surfaces and touching your mouth or eyes. We all touch the same doors and gas pumps daily. Most people have habits or touching their face often.

The transmission thru touching is believed to be 2nd behind the small airborne particles.
Coughing and sneezing on each other is lowest on the list of realistic concerns.
We should actually all be wearing N95 masks, and get back to disinfecting everything 1000 times a day. We technically need a new vaccine too. Just like the flu shot, there are variants every year.

taking a leak with no pants on, you could potentially #### on me (assuming you have a normal size organ). If you were to do the same thing but WITH PANTS ON, it wouldn't leave the puddle in your immediate vicinity. This is how masks work.

Wrong. The better analogy would be putting up a chain link fence to keep mosquitoes out. It doesn’t work to well because the mosquitoes are way smaller than the holes in the fence, not to mention they can fly around the fence. Look at the size of a virus, that might make you pee in your pants, so please keep them on.

Mosquitoes have wings. They don't depend on the movement of air to carry them through that chain link fence. The aerosol from your breath is transported mostly by forced or natural convection. Slow down or diffuse that motion in any way and you reduce the chances of an infected droplet reaching a target.

the mask undifused and velocity has nothing to do with it either.
I mean honestly folks. Surgical masks and Walmart cloth masks do NOTHING to stop the primary transmission mode of covid - breathing or transmitting infected particles.
If we're going to mandate masks, then they should be N95 (not Chinese knockoff) or better. Do it right and stop insulting human intelligence to suggest other masks have done anything to stop or slow covid.
The only reason we were getting it under control was natural immunity and vaccines.
The mutation is what is 100% filling the floor of the covid wing here, and the evil "non maskers" have nothing to do with it.

trying to assign %'s to the reduction in covid by wearing a mask... it's complete and utter bunk.
You may be referring to the amount of larger droplets (cough and sneeze) that are captured by masks.
Again, it's completely nonsensical to suggest a surgical or cloth mask actually stops the airborne spread of covid. There are numerous true science articles available explaining that KN95 masks are the initial starting point for slowing an airborne spread.
Much like Biden politics, this country is full of false information. Its about control. If the government really wanted to slow the primary transmission flow of covid, then they would start by federally mandating KN95 on the shelves at Walmart.

to sub-KN95 masks, but your HILARIOUS attempt to make a claim on how a sub-KN95 mask prevents transmission of airborne particles is BY FAR the funniest yet.
As if you can explain anything about what Taylor's work means. Lol, truly lol.
I'm wondering if you even know what diffusion means. Hint: it does not mean halt or prevent.
Please stop with the comedy. This virus is no joke.

Hospitalizations in Hawaii are up 854% in 2 months, despite one of the longest mask mandates and highest vaccination rates in the country, but the good news is that experts and the media are squarely focused on ignoring this and forcing masks on 2 year olds.
Maybe you can point out where masks are doing any good at all.

And yet Hawaii is still nearly the lowest state in the country for Covid cases and deaths and 88% of those in the hospital there are unvaccinated.

against airborne viruses. The only studies that ever showed any effectiveness are from 2020 and they are based on computer models, not actual observed data.

I wore mask/will wear mask in any privately owned business that requires me to. They have every right to set their policy. And I’m not gunna be that guy.
But, as someone who owns an abatement company, focusing manly of asbestos demolition, someone is lying. Either the EPA/OSHA or the CDC/WHO. They’re both gov agencies so your guess is as good as mine.
I’ve taken countless hours of classes regarding the safety procedure involved in handling asbestos materials. You should see what we wear to keep the fibers that cause mesothelioma out of our lungs. I’ll give ya a hint, it’s much more than a cloth mask, and the dangerous fibers we deal with are much much much larger than the droplets that carry covid.
