Failing NFL Drug Test

May 7, 2014, 12:00 PM

Orlando Sentinel

11:11 a.m. EDT, May 6, 2014

Three former FSU players reportedly failed drug tests at the NFL Scouting Combine.

DL Timmy Jernigan, LB Telvin Smith and LB Christian Jones were among 10 players who were “flagged” on a test they took in February, according to a report from Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer.

A failed test means that a player either tested positive for a drug or had diluted urine.

Jernigan began the offseason as a projected first-round selection. Many mock drafts still have him going in the middle of the first round, but some experts have him going early in the second round and recently opted to not attend the NFL Draft as originally planned. It is unclear whether the failed test has impacted his stock or his decision to be at the draft.

Smith is expected to go in the second or third round. Jones is considered a fourth-round prospect. He was suspended for a game because of an unspecified a violation of team rules this past season.

Other players to reportedly fail the drug test include LSU QB Zach Mettenberger, LSU DT Anthony Johnson, and Miami OL Seantrel Henderson.

I'm hoping this was just PEDs and not pot. If I were an NFL GM, there's no way in heck I'd want a player on something as addictive as mary-juwanna and wreck my locker room and ruin his life.

NFL GMs really don't care that they used some kind of drug. They care that they knew about the test and still didn't take the steps nesicarry to pass.

Really hope I'm missing the joke & you aren't being serious. Marijuana is not addictive in any way, shape or form. Nor is it a gateway drug. And how would marijuana use "wreck a locker room?" Our society has been brainwashed to believe these lies & it's really shameful because these same untruths are preventing the legalization of something that offers a startling amount of benefits.

If you know you're about to be tested in preparation for one of the biggest days in your life, and that folks would be going over your life/career thus far with a fine tooth comb, you come across as, at the least, an undisciplined individual if you can't keep your nose clean.
