former Clemson Tiger walk-on, Wes Long. That means we have two homecomings this season with Wes in early November and Cliff Ellis on Nov 22 with his Coastal Carolina team.

Wes is a great guy. He played on my intramural team after he became a manager. Was money from three! Man I miss those games in Fike. Pretty cool that he will be coming back to coach at Littlejohn.

Wes also has Ray Henderson on his staff. Alos, the women's coach at Queens is also a Clemson grad.

- Games against Gardner-Webb, Citadel, Coastal, Furman, Winthrop, Alabama St., ETSU are the winnable small school games that everyone plays. There's 7 potential wins right there.
- Games against College of Charleston and South Carolina are tougher, but certainly winnable at home. 2 potential wins there.
- Games at Iowa and at Arizona will pose challenges, with Arizona certainly being more of a challenge. Would certainly take a split here.
- December tournaments can be a great opportunity...this will be a good time for the team to "gel" heading into conference play. UTEP would be a good solid win. Then getting Kansas St. in a 2nd round matchup would be very tough. Xavier probably awaits on the other side of the bracket if we make it to a final. Getting 2 wins in a tournament like this would be very respectable.
- Conference play. Ok, I see some good possibilities here. The teams we play one time are Duke, UNC, N.C. State, Maryland, BC and Miami. The teams we play twice are FSU, Wake, Ga. Tech, Va. Tech and Virginia. Playing GT twice is the gift that keeps on giving right now. Same with Wake, unless there is a drastic change. VT and UVA are tough and would take a split with those two. And FSU certainly is very difficult and a split with them would be a good scenario. With the one time games, you have to like our chances at home against NCSU and Maryland. BC and Miami are on the road, both are winnable, but odds are we could drop one. And then there's Duke and UNC, and we know where that road goes.
All in all, I see another 9 or 10 win conference season as attainable, with a solid non-conference win or two to get us over the top. Getting a win over Arizona or Kansas St. would be huge in December.
Looking forward to it....

Wes Long was a walk on in 2000-01 then a manager for the next 3 years. Will be great to see him coach in Littlejohn. He won the D2 Conference Carolinas league last year.

Can't wait for the season.
I wonder if we could reschedule the COC game if football has a night game.

At least this year, unlike two years ago, the ACCCG is in Charlotte instead of Tampa.
