Despite all of the whining on here about how awful Brownell is

he just got ANOTHER quality win this year.
We just beat a top 25 team, and one from the ACC with a much better basketball history than we have.
I won’t hold my breath for public apologies by those who spent the last two hours bashing the team.
Go Tigers!

What's your pregame analysis? You seem to know a lot about the game and our team - who ya got at Dookie?
And, "reputation"? Exaggerrate much? I haven't made any bad posts here, and mostly it's been one person who gave me the TDs. You'd have to ask her why.

We have been streaky this year from the outside for sure. But I do believe we can shoot much better than we did tonight. It’s hard to be mad at guys who are good shooters who take an open 3.

We are always streaky. That doesn't change unfortunately . . but the defense shouldn't be streaky. That has been the most disappointing for me the last few games. Tonight, it was back . . and guess what? We won.

I ate crow this year and than watched Brad eat crow as we regressed to what we have been. Yes tonight was a good win against barely a top 25 team but make no mistake we stunk it up tonight. We continue to have a poor offensive gameplay and a team where the best player and senior refuses to take over The offense. I hope BB gets back to me eating crow on some earlier wins but my confidence in is being a one and done ncaa team at best is dwindling. Hope we turn it around but even after a win tonight cautiously optimistic at best

It’s sad that you felt the need to emphasize Louisville as “barely a top 25 team.”

A top 25 win is a top 25 win. In case you haven’t been paying attention, Clemson doesn’t have many of those in its basketball history.
Of course we have plenty of things to improve upon, but the coaches are working on that. How about we as fans enjoy this win?

concerning coming on here to bash or criticize your support and/or defense of our basketball team or Coach Brownell. But to call last night a ‘quality win’ AND to use it as cause for vindication is a bit much. Perhaps I am being overly sensitive or critical, as like the large majority of tnetters, I don’t (always) come on tnet during or after games with rants of “... fire Brownell.... this team is horrible.... etc., etc. ...”. I believe your post is directed at them, not those of us who love our Tigers, enjoy watching them compete - win or lose - but do not come on here (constantly?) bemoaning how we do not enjoy bad losses, poor play, mental errors, coaching gaffes, and the like.
I honestly believed we COULD beat Louisville. Even after the three terrible losses (in which our Tigers played teams that had great games and performances by their players), but also when we looked absolutely horrible. Was it covid? Not sure. Did/does the covid layoff still affect us? Not sure. But I believe(d) we were better than we looked during that stretch.
But what I am sure of last night is that we went 7 - 35 from beyond the arc. And at least a third of them were open looks. It was painful to watch them clank off the rim - heck there was one air ball! Our ball handling and passing was also sloppy - just careless turnovers. Sure, we won, but because Louisville sure didn’t look like a top 25 team last night. IMHO, we could (should?) have done to them what UVA and GT did to us.
As someone else said, IF we make the NCAAT - AND shoot and play like last night - we’re one and done. IMO I think making the tourney has become much like getting a bowl game; however, getting to the second weekend is an accomplishment. If we continue to shoot and pass like last night, I see us staying in the bottom half of the ACC.
I for one, hope we can get back to playing like we were earlier in the season. I love when our Tigers are competing (and ‘relevant’). But that performance last night - even though we won - was painful to watch.

for the comments of a few. Another JK move is to call for CBB to be replaced, then reverse course and act as if he was the only one supporting the team through adversity. It's a lot like being a "fair weather fan", although he'll debate you on that.

and failed to be happy and supportive after a win.
If that's not you, great. But if the shoe fits...
I have supported our team through adversity. I've consistently been here these last 10 years supporting our coaching staff and our players. I have my moments of frustration too, but I've never called for Brownell to be replaced. I simply said once that I'm open to a change if it's a really good hire and the AD supports basketball like it should be supported.
I think Brad is a really good coach and has done a lot with little. I'm encouraged now that we have better facilities and the staff Brad has been asking for. This year is really important though. We really need to make the NCAA Tournament or it's going to be hard to justify keeping Brad another year.

Beating a top 25 team is always a quality win.

I don't think it has anything to do with vindication though. It was a great win, and one that we desperately needed, but we will need to string together several good performances these next few games to ease the damage incurred by those three huge losses in a row.
Of course we didn't shoot well last night. I agree it would've been nice to get inside more. But our defense was great, we held Louisville to 50 points, and we WON! Shouldn't that be the focus here?
The coaches will work on addressing the problems that affect our team. I believe our job is to support them.
People who spent two hours last night talking about how awful we are, how much our coaches stink, and how poorly our players played wasted a lot of time in my opinion because we won. How many of those people have posted since then congratulating our team on the win? Probably not many. I am left to conclude that those people care more about complaining than they do winning.

Simply saying top 25 team would've sufficed.

Using the word barely was the emphasis.
It's almost like some people here (not necessarily Uncle Bill) go out of their way to minimize success and overemphasize failure when it comes to Clemson basketball.
We just beat a top 25 team, when we badly needed a win to break an ugly 3 game losing streak. Enjoy it!

It has become very obvious and with most Brownell teams we are weak and handicapped offensively. If we can hold teams down we have no chance. Virginia exposed us. Teams have been forcing us to shoot from the outside. The lack of recruiting continues to show up. We are too streaky from the outside. This has been a Brownell trait since day won. Yes we won tonight, but we have been exposed again.
As I have been saying for the last four years, if we want to get to the next level, Brownell can't take us there.

the new facilities and the coaching/support staff he needs?
I do.
And he’s only had those in place a few years. Since then we have made the NCAA Sweet 16, and barely missed NCAAs the next year with a NET of 30. We are going to make the NCAAs this year.
We are enjoying recruiting like we haven’t seen in a long time.
There is a lot to be encouraged about. Don’t be a simpleton who just says “he’s been here 11 years” and makes dramatically negative conclusions without understanding the details.

There isn’t an energy or excitement about the program and hasn’t been for a while.
But the last recruiting class stacked on an experienced roster and COVID have given the opportunity to create some with a tournament run.
However, If this team underachieves and there is regression next year, it’s the end for Brownell.

You don’t post how bad those past 3 losses were, and now you show up wanting apologies like we just beat Gonzaga.
This is more like the Bowden era of football. Winning some good ones and then losing some we should not (in his case losing by big numbers - had it been by 2 it would have been different.)
Sure, was nice win. All wins are nice. But let’s not act like Louisville is a top 10 team. After watching them, they struggle to score just like we do. I will take all wins, but again, this win was not amazing.
I still don’t get CBB formula of not going inside (almost at all.). To keep heaving 3s when not making them. To not at least try. To have our best player, play a 5 when he clearly is a 3. Balance the inside with th

to complain, including starting a thread to whine and complain. That's fine, we all get caught up in the game, and we didn't play great. We've all been there.
But at least be a man and acknowledge that a lot of your complaints were overreactions. And for goodness' sake, be happy for a win against a top 25 team.
You don't seem very happy that we won. Why not?

"I expect us to lose by less than 20 tonight."
"Don't even expect to win, Brownell's teams never win games in January and he's a crappy coach who has no idea what he's doing."
Those are direct quotes from you yesterday afternoon. Yet this team went out and beat a top 25 team despite you giving up. And as I said last night, anyone who didn't think we would win last night should go to FGF and root for the coots. So run along coot!

It was one game, and we've seen this same song and dance before.
It's been 11 years of the this rollercoaster. Nobody owes you an apology for anything, but if Brad is able to make some noise in the NCAA tournet then we'll get excited.
Whether that happens or not nobody owes you a darn thing. You pick and choose your battles, and the really the only question is, if we don't make any noise in the tourney will you finally apologize for being such a sanctimonious jack-A?

No one owes ME anything, but I would argue that some people here owe the team an apology.
What happened to supporting the team through thick and thin, and celebrating wins? Wins aren't easy to come by in ACC basketball, especially over top 25 teams.
The fact that you have a problem with me supporting the team, and calling out those who go out of their way not to, says a lot about where your priorities lie.
I don't care if you like me or my posts, but please support the team. Last night's win was a good one.
Obviously it was just one game, just as the UVA game was just one game. But for some reason, focusing on the negatives has become a thing for some people. Never mind the fact that we were ranked only one week ago, and have more quality wins this year than we've had in quite some time. People can't seem to focus on that, just the negatives.
