Herbie saying the D-Line has been a disappointment and tonights game is basically meaningless given the loss to UofSC

Agree, ND is not acc so moot argument. I would substitute DL for defense as a whole hasn't been as advertised. The DL hasn't been as advertised either because imo the backend. The angst is all off season everyone talked about our D could rival uga's D from last year and our numbers are not good. We weren't close or we'd have been undefeated and Cade would have gotten a lot of pt.

Clemgal ..... the last part of your post is the most important. If we had performed as advertised, particularly on defense, Cade would have gotten a bundle of valuable playing time. Honestly, with all of the Cade is better talk, I don't really think we got enough game time experience to really know yet. Personally, I think he will be great ...... especially with some experience.

tho - the idea that the D has been carrying the water for the offense in some key situations.
It's alot to ask. Maybe theyve played a little tighter becasue if it. I wont fall
back on injuries that's such a tired take.
In any event theyre still #22 in total D. Not great, sure, but given the bigger picture ...
I dont think we can blame the D for the QB who shall not be named's horrid play in key games.

Only things I would disagree with is the ND comment and the comment that todays game is meaningless. The rest of it is spot on. If ND wants to claim a championship then join the daggum conference. They lost to Marshall and Stanford. If they were in the ACC and those losses were conference games they would not have won their division. As far as today’s game, anyone that thinks the difference between finishing 12-2 with an Orange Bowl win and finishing 10-4 losing the last 3 is meaningless has lost their mind. Todays game is huge. Maybe to some it is the difference between being bad and being very bad but losing today would make a big difference.

"Meaningless" in the other hand is contextual. It isnt meaningless if you're playing the long game and realizing 12-2 with an Orange Bowl win means they stay in the top 10 heading into 2023.
As a "Just win, baby" disciple, it feels meaningless. But I dont discount the long game.

You were correct about the better word being disappointed. Definitely disappointed by going to OB instead of playoffs. But the reality is win or lose we have little or no chance to get in the playoffs so this game is meaningless in terms of making the playoffs. I honestly believe that ship has sailed. And I also agree with what you said about it not being meaningless in terms of the long game and momentum going into next year. That’s what I meant by the only place this game is meaningless is that it doesn’t affect whether we go to the playoffs or not.

TRUTH right there now!! Gameday has dissolved into a steaming pile and is more along the lines of WWF than it is football analysis. The more crazy stuff they say, the more the kids behind them yell. I quit watching years ago. Not that I totally disagree with anything they are saying but I hate the presentation. It's like trying to watch 5 drunks in a card game trying to one-up each other at the top of their lungs. Not my cup of tea.
