tgre,
If god wanted this kid healed, then why did he put him in such a dangerous situation to begin with.
I guess you wonder why they have ambulances at games and take the injured to the hospital in the first place.
I would love to have your god's job. He gets ALL of the credit for anything good that happens and NONE of the responsibility when bad stuff happens.

My father in law was a surgeon at Baptist Medical in Columbia back in the day and I remember a story he told me, that there was a fellow that needed surgery, but decided that if God wanted him to be healed, God would do it. My father in law responded, "what if God is trying to use me to heal you". I'm certain there have been a lot of prayers for Hamlin's healing. I know I've prayed for it. Perhaps God did step in, utilizing the Bills field staff, and the Hospital staff. Those of us in the realm of faith, will want to believe that.
The rest of the discussion is a matter of the free will of man vs the sovereignty of God. We believe that God made everything including the rules and he chose faith as rule number 1. If he never allowed anything bad to happen, then what good is faith?

rgby,
Respectfully, help me think this through from your perspective. As I understand your faith, god knows everything that has ever happened and everything that is going to happen. So he knew that Hamlin was going to suffer this dangerous injury. He also knew that he was going to "step in" as you put it and allow the medical personnel to save the kid's life. So why put the kid and his family through all of this to begin with. That is the question that I am asking.
Many christains are talking about god's blessed miracle, but nobody is talking about him being responsible for the injury in the first place. That's the part I don't get.

He puts people through things in life to give them the opportunity to draw nearer to him or not. To grow peoples faith in him. Look at how many people prayed to him this week for Hamlin that haven’t prayed in a while. Look at the conversation u r having right now. He is using Hamlin injury to have people speak to u about God. He uses people in all kinds of ways to give people the opportunity to draw closer to him. He wants to give everyone the opportunity to have a relationship with him but whether u choose to or not is up to u.

You’re missing the entire point. I think u and everyone else can agree that 1,000,000 years is a lot longer that 80-90 years. Life on earth is a drop in the bucket compared to the afterlife. The whole reason of Jesus was to be the ultimate sacrifice for our sins and he saves us from eternity in hell. U do u but I sure would rather live my 80 years on earth believing in Jesus and then die and realize I was wrong than the other way around and die not believing and then spend eternity in a literal furnace all while being tortured by demons.

First of all, I believe in supporting evidence - and there is absolutely none to support your thesis that there is a god or an afterlife.
Two, THIS life is the only one you are going to get - and you are living it with a delusion at the very center of yours. You get 80 - 90 years on this amazing planet and all you can do is worry about the next life. Try living this one more fully.
Three, I think my picture is right on target. What kind of all powerful god, creator of everything in the entire universe - is so insecure and egotistical as to send someone to burn and suffer in hell for eternity, just because they won't fall on their knees and worship him 24 - 7. Not anyone worth worshipping.
I am sorry if my position on this matter bothers you, but you are the one removed from reality, not me.

Nice name,Tobias! Speaking of healing, have you read about Tobias in the Book of Tobit? Tobias is Tobit’s son and takes a walk with the angel Rafael (known for healing). Great story if you haven’t read it.

Our daughter is a Penn State nursing graduate, Class of '21. Since graduation, she has been a Post-Op Nurse in Cardiothoracic Surgery at Duke. We are very proud of her and some of the stories she shares are truly inspirational and downright amazing. It is a very challenging, highly stressful, and emotional job but she knows she makes a difference every day and I think that kind of keeps her going.

Thanks my friend. Next week will start a long journey of surgeries for me over the next 60 days. However, all in all I am grateful to be able to still do the things I love. I have so much room to grow as a person, eventually I will get there.
