Actually, I was surprised to see that they have signed as much talent as they have over the years. They sure haven’t done anything with it. And when your all-time top recruit is one of the laziest and most self-absorbed player in college football in the last 20 years, that says a lot about your program too.

They can get "paper" talent. They just can't do anything with paper. They just do not have the culture for that.
They do not develop talent and are prone to "overpay" of sorts for unrealized talent (go for stars and not room to grow). Anyone can get *stars* save for Wake Forest but at least Wake understand development. For example, the coots would want to keep a lazy 4/5-star guy than a hustling 3/4-star guy with room to grow. Sure, that *lazy* fiver might be better but that is an individual approach to a team sport, but after a year or so Clemson the 4-guys are better than the few lazy fivers SC can get. What happens is that then/when you are in the race for other 5-star who work to develop, Coots are not going to get the hustling 5 star "program changers" (Wilkins, DL, TL)... worse, you miss those 4-star program changers (Watson) too.
Finally, without that culture and development, you never develop the Renfrows. When was the last time you had a walk on at Cootsumbia win a natty, wait, nevermind. They don't develop and they dont win natties.
I will say this, at least Spurrier understood development at the QB position. Dang him, he did do well with those kids compared to the current cluster happening now.

So true. 14 of the top 25 players to ever sign there went undrafted, 3 went in the 6th or 7th round, 5 were drafted in the first 5 rounds including two 1st rounders, 2 are commits and 1 is on the team. Meanwhile 4 of Clemson's top 25 have gone in the 1st round with 7 total in the first 5 rounds, 12 are committed or on the team, 2 went undrafted, 2 were 6th or 7th round and 1 transferred in the off season.

Yep. It’s all about the Jimmy and Joes.
What’s impressive is how many 3 star guys you’ve receruited that have turned out to be vastly underrated in high school.
Probably going to be a long time before we beat you guys again.

I have been blown away by how many "diamonds in the rough" 2-3 stars and walk-ons that have been able to rise up and produce amongst the 4 and 5 stars in our program. It is a real testament to the staff's ability to identify and develop talent.

Todd,"Final score in Williams Brice, November blah blah blah, Clemson 67 South Carolina 3"....

In the booth or on the field, I would hope any team would aim higher than the next Todd Ellis

I really don’t think sc could give Ellis’ job away. Listening to his commentary is painful and he is such a huge #### lover he just spews bs about the peckers.

Great analogy. We have 10 of our top 25 currently on the roster to the Coots 1. Hmmmm .... can you say third thumb this year for the folks in Garnet

Even scarier stat is ETN at #101 overall. Also, look at the development of our D-line. Beasley and Lawson and Adams were some of the greatest Collegiate D-linemen of all time and not really near elite status as recruits.!
