A USCjr acquaintance of mine says they will only lose 2 games this year. UGA & Tennessee ( and he's not 100% that they will lose to TN ) Now, I know that they are always delusional this time of year but I honestly have not heard many in the know say what kind of team they will have this year. I know Rattler can be really good but he is streaky and will make a lot of mistakes along the way. I have no idea what they will have on defense. What is your honest assessment. Here is mine and it is really not an "informed" opinion.
UNC - Win - UNC has no defense.
Furman - Win
UGA - Loss
MS State - Win - It's at home
Tennessee - Loss - TN will be good and it's at TN
Florida - Win - It's at home and I'm not buying FL
Missouri - Loss - This one is a toss up but they have problems with Missouri for some reason.
A&M - Loss - At A&M and I think they will be much improved this year (how can they be worse)
JSU - Win - It's JSU
Vandy - Win - It's Vandy
Kentucky - Win - It's at home.
Clemson - Loss - We have a score to settle from the worst coached game in the history of CU football.
So I'm going 7-5 or 8-4 depending on the Missouri game.

I get so sick and tired of hearing what a meat-grinder the SEC is. Its a top heavy as any other league. Seems like the coots always somehow end up with a cake walk schedule. Probably because the East has been a dumpster fire for seemingly decades now......

beat one of the teams in the ACC championship game last year. The SEC, while top heavy, is better than most conferences, ACC included. Like all conferences, they still have their bad teams, but their mid-tier beats most conferences mid-tier.

I would agree although it is tough to know what a team has until they actually play a game or two.

Have about 1000 yards of offense but still lose because their D is completely incompetent.

Agreed. Two bad defenses. I still just don’t trust UNC. Especially in a neutral site game but on paper. UNC is the better team.
I personally think 7 wins is their ceiling. 8 wins if they get every break and special teams replicate what they did last year.

Vegas has their win total at 6.5. Looking at their schedule I would say the over looks like a good play. However they are a borderline top 25 teams (#27) which returns most of their star power, but nothing really along the lines. You would think public perception would drive that line a little higher than it should be. For the last 8 month I would have told you 8 wins, but after looking at Vegas I think 6-6.

Their best player by a huge margin last year is now at FSU. The other TE they had that was decent went back to Oklahoma (I think). They aren’t returning much other than Rattler

I only see 3 sure wins, Furman, JSU and Vandy.
3 sure losses in Clem., UT and UGA.
Of the remaining 6 games, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say they win 3, at most.
So, 6-6 is best case but 5-7 is more likely.

If JSU has any kind of a deceent defense, they may surprise Carolina. They are returning all of their offensive lineman and they can run the ball. This could be the upset of the year.

Im not buying the S. Carolina hype. They lost everything which is not like they had much, but they lost 2 defensive end starters in Burch and Edmonds. They Lost Bell and Lloyd. Only thing with production they returned was their QB and WR Rattler and Wells and their Safeties

What I'm hearing about them reminds me of the Lamar Jackson led Louisville teams. A talented and inconsistent QB that can win or lose games for you, surrounded by a questionable supporting cast.

Miss St - loss. Miss St is probably top 2 in sec west
TN - loss payback time
FL - win in an upset

I thinks their season rests squarely on Rattler’s shoulders and the offensive lines ability to protect him. Of cours that is true of a lot of teams.

I believe Florida makes a jump this year with Trevor at RB, Missouri is never an easy out because they are always sound defensively, also word around camps is Kentucky is looking really good this year. If they were in Georgias level yes it wouldn’t be a rough schedule but the coots being the coots it’s gonna be tough sledding for them

I think they lose to Kentucky, I live near Lexington so I see a lot about them. They did really well in the portal, they got Devon Leary, one of the top DBs in the portal from Cincinnati and a few others. They are pretty consistently good and I think are the better program now, 10 wins twice in the last 5 years… looking like a 4 win season for them because I agree with all your other picks.
