College basketball top 25 is a joke - we STILL aren't ranked

In the AP, we are #27 based on votes (we were #29 last week).
In the Coaches Poll, we only received 4 votes which puts us at #32. Gamecocks are #27 in this poll.
I realize that it doesn't matter at this point, but it is frustrating to have a top 30 RPI with several good wins and no bad losses and still not get any recognition for it.
We will prove these doubters wrong this year, I know it.

Just because you want us to be ranked and we're not doesn't mean the poll is a joke.
We've beat one good team and they were down their best player.
Clemson basketball will get a chance to prove how good it is in January.

One good team? Davidson, UNCW, Georgia, and Nebraska also have real good RPI ratings. Nebraska is coming off two good wins at Indiana and at Maryland.

Clemson deserves to be in the Top 25 right now. Period. When UNCW and SC are ranked higher (Coaches and AP), there's an issue.
We have 6...let me say it again...6 RPI Top 100 wins. We have 3 RPI Top 25 wins. Good resume to this point.

I'm not going to forget half a decade of mediocre basketball when we haven't even played one conference game.
I haven't said one negative thing about this years team but I'm not going to call the polls a joke because they don't have us ranked.

I think 75% of sports fans would call polls a joke. They're done by writers, some who haveprobably never even played a game in their life.
Trust me, you've said plenty negative about this year's team. And last year. And the year before. And so on...look at your pulse rating. Everybody knows it.

I don't know how we'd be this year but we'd definetly have several more NCAA appearances and possibly a deep run in the tournament by now.
That's conservative considering what OP did in just a few short years.

How many tourney wins did he have in his career? You count appearances as being great. It always meant we were one of the first losers. Better days are coming. I think they may just be upon us.

You have no way of knowing that we would have had more NCAA Tournament appearances if OP had stayed. And you have zero basis for thinking that we might have made a deep run in the NCAA Tournament under Purnell. YOU DO KNOW THAT PURNELL HAS NEVER EVER WON AN NCAA TOURNAMENT GAME, RIGHT?!?

So I can't go by what he did when he was here?
He won 20+ games four years straight, three straight tournament appearances and three straight winning seasons in the ACC.
Why would anybody assume he wouldn't have continued to be successful?

We already have three wins against top 25 RPI teams and six wins against the RPI top 100. Anyone who has watched us play this year can see that we deserve to be ranked.
And that is precisely the problem - most of the people voting haven't seen us play yet this year, because the media didn't pick us to be any good.
It's a joke, much like you pretending to be a Clemson fan.

Poll doesn't matter. It is nice and keep playing well it will happen. At this point there needs to be no bad losses. A loss to GT, BC or Wake at home would be bad for the Tigers. It would be great if the worst loss is to Oklahoma on the road. The ACC champion will probably have 4 losses. With no bad losses Clemson will be in the tournament and not a play-in game.

I totally agree JudgeKeller, but this is still ok, Clemson plays great in the underdog roll, I think its better this way, not being in the top 25 has no bearing on our ability to make the tournament. Lets see how far this winning streak goes, lets be patient and see how we fair against the toughest conference in bball. This is all we should be concerned with.
