Brownell is a better coach today than in previous

years. However, my concern is his ability to recruit. He has a good team and lot of good players on this present team as was his final 16 team. My problem in the past of his keeping and recruiting good players on a yearly basis. Twice in 12 years is not good enough. My hope is Brad will start bringing in good talent from here on. If you have the players you can win. If not you gonna struggle like he has got most years. If this team finishes well I say bring Brad back.

Haven’t seen any mention of his name, but Billy Donlon appears to have really helped the team this year and may be responsible for some of this success. Notice he is in BB’s ear during many time outs, and it seems that overall in game coaching has been better than in past years.

I have always felt that Brad has been a good coach. He's also good at developing players who stay with the program. During his tenure, talent acquisition has been a problem. His players play good defense, play hard and appear to be good kids. However, they rarely have the athletic ability to challenge Duke, UNC, Virginia, Miami and Florida State. Maybe with a successful season this year, he can attract better players.

Hope his recruiting will improve after this season. Too many great BB players have left our state- even from 25 miles away. If
Brad ever replaced it will be for failing to recruit and not coaching and not being a great person and not running a clean program with clean guys.

I have always been a believer in Brownell's ability to coach and continue to be. Despite my confidence, the truth is that we have not played the usual top teams in the conference but those teams are no longer the top. If we win both games this week or really even just beat Ville and play a good close game with Duke, I will begin to think it can be a good year.

My take for what it is worth…

This Brad is a good/great coach stuff gets old and then excuses like can’t get talent, injuries, players leaving for some reason leading to poor seasons. All of that is coaching nowadays; recruiting, retaining, hiring good assistants, definitely ‘X & O’s. I think Brad is capable and I think Neff issued an ultimatum but also opened the purse strings to bring in better assistants.

If this season continues along a successful path then recruiting will improve, good transfers will take a look, players will stay for good coaching and exposure.

I have been critical (more than some/less than others) in the past, but I’m 100% in for the ride and wishing for the best for the men’s basketball program at Clemson under CBB. I’m a little bit of a fair weather fan, I know ?, but it has been tough the past few years. GO TIGERS!!!

He had some potentially good players who transferred out. We could really use Proctor and some of that crew now.
