Jack, if you would have made it to the CWS in Omaha this year. You would have had a chance the way you play the game and with who you got. Before you get a livelier ball you better get some of the cornbread and butter milk boys.

Yeah, right, Jack. A livelier ball would just make our pitchers look even worse. Get a grip.

methinks some of our fans are the ones that need to get a grip. face it, some of you goobers would not be satisfied with anything coach did. anyone that has watched the series in omaha and thinks it is exciting needs to get a grip.

Yeah, except we didn't make it to Omaha, so the point is moot.

He's right, college baseball is a snooze fest - CWS stats
Jun 22, 2013, 11:43 PM

through 12 CWS games...
2B - 25 3B - 2 HR - 3
I don't mind low scoring if it's good pitching. But this has more to do with dead bats than pitching.

and I would like to see a line -up with a few more power hitters, you know guys who can drive the ball deep in the gaps, down the line, maybe even pop one out of the park every once in a blue moon.

Come on Jack...a livelier ball and shorter fence means trouble for us, be careful what you wish for!!!
Everyone else hits more HR's on our field than we do, how about some bigger and stronger players?!!!

Maybe he knows all this prevents us from getting HR hitters

He's the one that is talking to the recruits. Do you think maybe some of those power hitters have told him that with the combo of the new bats and the size of our park they would rather go somewhere they could "get their numbers?" The last time we brought in the fences we got tremendous power from Matt LeCroy to Jeff Baker, to Michael Johnson etc. But the technology has actually reduced the power in the bats and thus the power on teh field. If our park was large before, imagine what a high school power hitter thinks about it now with BBCOR.
For a coach that has always been about small ball and aggressive base running to say that he game has swung to much to the defensive side is saying something. If Skip "gorilla ball" Bertman was making these comments you could dismiss it as not playing into his style.

If you want it so it will benefit all of College Baseball,

I'm all for it. But, if you want it because you think it will improve your team's hitting, it will also improve your opponents hitting too.
