We need her.

Just like we need Jim Jordan or Luis Gomert. Yeah, she's way far left. But Jordan and Gomert are way far right.
We limit the marketplace of ideas at our own peril. Gomert may come up with an idea that changes everything. AOC may do the same.
You can obsess about her...but she's no more dangerous than any on the right. Welcome to America.

When I go to the Fox News website, she is the top story on the page. Every single day. A freshman congresswoman.
It's easy to understand why so many here talk about her. I'm assuming, if the network does the same thing as the website, she is talked about every single day on Fox News.

As a conservative, I freaking love her. She is the poison pill that is going to mark the demise of the far left of the Democratic party and hopefully move the party closer to center, and the best part is that most of the party doesn't even see it yet, instead believing that the right is somehow "threatened" by her.
Her ideals may be dangerous, but you couldn't create a worse caricature of a politician to implement them if you tried.
I hate her about as much as the Greeks hated watching the Trojan horse being wheeled into Troy.

You can wish for that, but in the past, when the people have perceived that the rich are getting richer at their expense, people like AOC didn't usually lose in the public opinion war long term.

Riding in to save everyone didn’t run off 25,000 tangible jobs and billions of dollars within their first year.
Dems in New York, left of moderate dems I might add, are currently begging Bezos to ignore her and give them one more chance.

It's so funny that Fox News pinned that all on her and you guys bought it. That makes sense in a lot of the country, but people in NY who pay attention know what happened.

AOC is a living lie. She grew up not so bad off but failed in adulthood, now it is everyone but her fault. She conned the low IQ poor folks .what all 10K of them to vote for her. SHe is there as long as the low IQ poor folks stay that way.

This drives me crazy about this board. You guys lie so much that it makes me defend people I don't even really like.
The idea that because her small house wasn't in shambles, that she grew up with money, is a crazy insult to poor people. It's quite the charge that since her house looks nice, wealthy people live inside. Are all poor people nasty?
As for her adult life, she graduated with honors from Boston and worked for a nonprofit and supplemented that with bartending. How is that failure? Isn't working two jobs to support your family honorable? Also can you explain why she needed to work two jobs to support a mother who was not too bad off?

from the other political side. She is seen (and held out by many dems) to be the face of the "new progressive wave."
I don't think the reaction to many of her statements are out of line.
I mean, she celebrated the decision by Amazon not to locate in NY as a win for worker's rights?!?!? and proposed the Green New Deal that includes a government guarantee of a job for every American. So....you know....she is getting the proper amount of criticism imo.

Of course it is. It never would have happened if he'd been white.
1. It didn't matter where he was born if he was born to an American. 2. He had already provided proof of citizenship to register in the first place. 3. Republicans are stupid. 4. Trump is racist garbage and anyone who supported the birther movement is racist garbage.

Did you not read it? Their being married is irrelevant. He was born to a citizen mother. He's a citizen at birth regardless of where he was born.
But he was born in Hawaii, as his birth certificate and newspaper announcement had already established. So the whole discussion is pointless.
To repeat: Anyone who believed the birther stuff is absolute racist garbage.

We'll just print more money in response to our debt crisis.
And no, you weren't joking.
there's nothing you can say to me that will make me think questioning anything about Obama is "racist". That blanket assessment was levied on anyone about anything with Obama. Obviously, you're still doing it now.
Personally, I think there was enough doubt about his birth certificate and the circumstances around his birth that makes it worthwhile to question. That has nothing to do with his race.

I’ve said before, if they re-elect her, they deserve her.

I think a lot of people are overthinking this. No one is afraid of her...at least not in the way that her luke-warm defenders are implying...as if she’s crazy like a fox. She’s just crazy. She’s just foolish. Sure, she’s dangerous in that fools don’t think she’s a fool, but people who are outraged by her aren’t hiding some deep insecurity that “she might be right”. We’re quite confident that she’s very definitely wrong.
To that point...I would disagree with the idea that “we need her”. I’ll respectfully disagree with any liberal’s thoughtful call for the government to have a significantly larger role in our lives, but an intelligent case can be made. She does not do this. She’s a child making childish comments. We don’t need to consider her opinion any more than we have to consider a neo-nazi’s or a Flat Earther’s.
Every time someone says to give her a chance I think of The Homer. Let her design our government and this is what we’d get.

prodigy.
She's young, naive, inexperienced, and her deluded arrogance is bolstered by her young success. She also has a national pulpit from which she is paid a modicum of attention.
Those things together won't add up to good decision making or worthwhile content.
