Are any of you shocked to hear Bama's players

use the same excuse for why they got beat in the National Championship 2 years ago?
It is once again their errors/not playing Bamaball. It was not Clemson putting them in position to fail over and over, repetitively. As the score indicates; this time Bama made a lot more errors than positive plays, but either way it is nothing Clemson did. They knew we had the QB/WRs this year and also ETN was not a freshman blocking blitzers without G Williams' to help this time around.
Yeah, they bragged about their business attitude and how personal it was last year, when we walked in with 30/40% of our offense in the Sugar Bowl and they also had the edge in the first matchup under Watson (4 self suspended players/Lawson tried to play hurt/Mac A got knocked out of the game and Mike Williams had been out all year). Hats off to them in those 2 of 4 CFP games, for being able to field the more complete team. We admit it.
I will also say that our coaching staff has out worked Bama's 500 coaches in every CFP that we have met up in, imo. I mean; we are in a battle if Cain doesn't drop that slant for a pick 6. Even though we were overmanned. If we played a team that had the limitations as our 2017 Sugar Bowl team we would have shut them out and you know the 3rd team would be running wild by the 4th Quarter.

You can't blame them...

They are told by everyone that they are the best team ever and could win in the NFL on a 24/7 loop since last year (every year) so when they lose there is no way in their mind it could be because the other team is better.

What is interesting is that I remember in 2016 hearing that Bama was likely the best to ever take the field at the college level. Tigers win the National Championship that year. What did we hear all year this season? Best ever? Best offense to go with a great defense. No one talked about this possibly not being the best defense until Georgia and Oklahoma put up points on them. I promise, had the score been flipped, the narrative would have been "see, Clemson had an easy road during the regular season, cruised in the ACCCG, drew a weak ND team and got man handled in the NCG." Now, Clemson wins by 4 TDs and the talk is about how the defense was not that great and no more mention of possibly the best offense Bama ever put on the field. 20/20 hindsight is awesome to watch.

Someone needs to make a video, similar to the ‘16 election night video showing CNN and mainstream media pundits giddy over Hillary winning and their facial expressions changing as each state “fell” and went red, showing Feinbaum et al as the game progressed!

Totally not shocked, nor do I care. For every 1,000 excuses they can come up with, that score remains 44-16.

And make no mistake, the score could have just as easily been 58 to 16, Dabo called off the dogs.

I admire an aspect if this which is the culture of individual responsibility Saban has attempted to create. let's face it, we've lived in a broader culture which thrives off petty excuses and too seldom holds individuals accountable.
HOWEVER
what we are seeing is an arrogance beyond anything which can be explained. Bama is THE football program and if this were ever in doubt, Saban secured that status. and they got their ##### handed to them the other night by a squad which out-coached and out-worked them. if they are the "professionals" they would have us believe, they should recognize this....publicly

Knew a player on a so so Clemson team and before games I'd sometime ask him about the opponent. Even on good teams they'd play he was always confident and would basicly said the opponent wasnt that strong. I'm not surprised about the Bama player mindsets. But it is poor form to air that attitude after you've been soundly beaten.

No surprising. Bammy is the only thing in Bammy's mind. That being said, when you are run over by a bus, are you thinking that the reason was the (ROY) bus or that it was you that stepped in front of it.
As for the coaching, I thought that we have outplayed and out coached in three of the 4 games. We were just out foxed (Give wiley Saban credit) in the first matchup. He tipped the scales at the right moment with the pooch kick and then we gave up the kickoff TD. However, they had out number in the semis last year. They cracked the KB code and that was it.

Yes, the onside was nice, but I stand by the missing players we had and am noting that I forgot Mike Williams was out, too. Going to edit my OP and add him.

Was only when Tee got hurt that things got really tough. The no call on Bama's DB on that play when Tee went down (the deep throw in the endzone). You know those Bama D Players playing offense were straight up blocking downfield on Bama's TD after the first int and Cain followed that up with a pick 6.
That's a lot to overcome with basically Kelly and a pissed Bama D with their ears pinned back.

The only excuse they should be using is they had to play Clemson again.

nitpick others' successes, rather than delve deeply within the mind, heart and soul to determine shortcomings.
That's been the problem with our fine, feathered fiends in Columbia for over 100 years and will continue until they are willing to ask themselves why they continue in mediocrity.

During their heyday, when their HC has had a chance to pass their legend and we did not have the luxury of the $EC Media Machine or the Bama way.
I believe they still have a bit of an edge in rosters recruited. We just got the punter but do not land as many highly rated offensive linemen and safeties. We just coach our guys up better or our guys are more mentally sound.

To be clear it is in the recruiting rankings that we whiff on 5* Safeties constantly and have had two 5* OTs. Compared to what Bama has been recruiting since 2008.
Looking at the functional playing depth that Dabo and Co creates each year says a lot (outstanding). We did not have that luxury the first time around. Dabo made that adjustment and it has helped substain our program's success. Im not sure we make it 4 years in a row if he chose to not play so many guys each and almost every game. Bama can get away with playing a small rotation to a degree, but not versus Clemson, usually.
This time I did read we only ran like 64 offensive plays, and beat them that soundly. 96 plays would have translated to 66 points or so, if we needed it, I can promise those Bama defenders that. If not more, as L Dixon would have easily shifted/weaved past their tired tails in the 4th QT. Seems like OU and whoever else Bama wants to list had their starters in that late, in a losing effort. Not sure how that makes them better? *snicker snicker*

I expected them to give us a little more credit but that was probably expecting too much. Mack Wilson did have a tweet yesterday giving us credit though so I will say they’re not spouting that nonsense across the board.

I have and I just find it disrespectful from their players. I think Satan should shut that down. You would not hear our players making such comments as Dabo would have locked them down as far as Social Media at least...
On a side note, many FANs from Bama have been quite respectful at least to me and from what I am reading. I know there are outstanders, but we have a few of those too.

a loss...In 2015, we didn't have 4 suspended, we only had three and one of those wasn't seeing the field past warmups...In 2016, they didn't have Eddie Jackson, that is bigger than not having Mike in 2015...And you won't find many Clemson fans who say they just came out and whupped us LAST year, so why would you expect any different from them?
