Arch Manning

Do we have a realistic chance of landing him? I would be surprised if he doesn’t land somewhere in SEC land but he’s visiting tomorrow. Just curious with Cade coming in if we have a legit shot at him. One REALLY good QB every 2 years is good but Arch ain’t sitting 2 years and Cade won’t sit either. Thoughts?

I think that you are correct, and my guess is Bama, or Ole Messy!!!

I think we've really hurt our chances with this season. Glad we have Cade coming in though.

If I were him, I look at as where I could come in & start right away. He could definitely be starting for us this season, don’t ever count Dabo out with a recruit.

As Much As I Want Arch to come to Clemson, it'll be Ole Miss

The Mannings have ties to Ole Miss and Lane Kiffin frankly would be a better HC for him than Clemson right now if you believe that TE is a big part of the problem here.

Kiffin won’t be at Ole Miss in 2 years. All his other finalist have signed 4-5 star QB’s in their ‘22 class, so that shouldn’t be an issue.

who does Texas have coming in to them for 22? They have Williams now. I think that is why people are saying he is a Texas lean

whether the chances are good or not good at landing Arch,I just hope he has a good impression of the Clemson game day environment both outside the as well as inside memorial stadium but especially during the game.If things are not going well at points during the game I just hope there is no booing happening like the Boston College game.

I was at the BC game and the only booing I remember was directed toward poor officiating.

You never know when a 5star QB isn't going to pan out.

In the spring of 2014 DW4 was 3rd string QB.
Then Chad Kelly didn't pan out and DW4 moved up the depth chart.

second trip to Clemson this year. If I had to guess, I’d think that we are near the top but not 1 or 2. This will be a great visit for our coaches to work some magic. With the bad season we’re having, the one thing that we can now offer is a lot of early playing time at the qb position. I’ve learned to never count Dabo out in recruiting. So fingers crossed.

Sure, Clemson has a shot at the Golden Arch(es).
The families of these "celebrity" recruits have been paying attention to Dabo's program, and these football knowledgeable families recognize longer-term value in Clemson than what they see in a single season (whether that season is good or whether that season is bad).
Consider K.Herbstreit and his kids. Kirk has plenty of money, gets to see a BUNCH of college football programs, and of course cares about his kids. In the case of the Herbstreit kids (i.e., not super-duper recruits), he had plenty of money to send his kids as walk-ons to any program in the country. But he and his boys chose Clemson. Why not Ohio State (Kirk's Alma Mater)? ANSWER: Because Clemson is better overall program despite not being at Alabama's level. (Both OH State and U of AL would gladly have had the Herbstreit kids as walk ons, if only for the publicity.) The 'Clemson experience' under Dabo is arguably the best in college football ... and the 'celebrity dads' realize this.
Manning family: Similar to the Herbsteit family; the football talent of the boy (Arch) is on another planet. However, Clemson remains as a superior program (at worse, you could call Clemson a Top 5 program DESPITE our mediocre 2021 season). The same attributes for the Clemson FB program apply whether or not there is an aberration or two (i.e., mediocre seasons) every now and then.
This doesn't mean that Clemson gets Arch Manning, but let's pretend that he commits to us before his HS Senior year. If C.Klubnik gets on campus (and doesn't become a high round MLB draft pick and forgo college) and tears it up as a FR QB, then of course the Mannings will probably end up de-committing and choosing another Top 5 program where Arch won't be on the bench for more than 1 year.

His grandfather Archie, his father Cooper and his uncle Eli all attended Ole Miss. Lane Kiffin offers the all-out air raid offensive philosophy to push kids to,NFL Lane and Manning family will cut a deal: play for me at Mississippi and I promise to stay for your 3-4/years career. Done.,

Lane and Manning to LSU could evolve as well ... but agree with those who place Ole Miss and Texas as favorites with Bama as backup.
