I had the pleasure of meeting Greg Gumbel a few years ago after a work associate hooked me up with VIP passes to the espn CFB award ceremony. Fortunately/unfortunately I was about 9 beers deep and wandering around backstage when my buddy and I spotted ole Greg himself. In an attempt to catch his attention, we started shouting "Hey! Mr. GUMBO!" to which he ignored our cries for attention. However, the silent treatment only served to embolden us and we decided to bring his wife into the equation with "Do you kiss Mrs. GUMBALL goodnight with those smooth lips of yours?" At this point I could practically see the steam coming out of Greg's ears as he motioned for security to eliminate the two of us instantly. I remember standing outside in the cold, puking all over myself while simultaneously calling in an order for a dozen pepperoni pizzas to the backstage entrance of the venue (made billable to Mr. Gumball nonetheless) and catching a cab back to the hotel. What a night.

Also, did I ever tell you about the time I met Don Cornelius?

Are you confusing Greg with his Brother Bryant. Greg has hosted the tournament studio show forever. He is also not smug like his Brother who hosts Real Sports on HBO.
