Any democrats think James and Engoron went a little too far?

I guess it depends on the ultimate goal. They both have expressed a desire to prevent Trump from winning in the presidential election.

For a guy that is worth over $2B, a $350M judgment is definitely a bad day, but it's not a death blow.

On the other hand, the judgement is seen as excessive, punitive, and politically motivated by independent swing voters.

So, I think they missed the mark. They needed to deliver a death blow judgment OR they needed to show restraint to win in the court of public opinion.

When they denied Trump the right to a trial by jury, they basically painted themselves into a strategic problem. They had to deliver a judgment that hurt, but they couldn't go for the jugular because it would ensure a loss on appeal.

Anyway, Trump gets to live another day and appeal it.

Strategic error? Once they took his right to a jury, should they have gone for every last cent he had?

And why would they request a jury trial?
Especially in a deep blue state. It would have had the same outcome. Plus a jury can’t choose the dollar amount because there was no victim. So the judge still would have decided the dollar amount.
His best chance to beat it was betting on a judge to have some ethics rather than a jury of all dems.

Not requesting a jury trial is not the same as being denied one.***

“You have probably noticed or already read that this case has no jury,” Engoron said. “Neither side asked for one and, in any event, the remedies sought are all equitable in nature, mandating that the trial be a bench trial, one that a judge alone decides.”

Also read the actual judgment where the judge also addresses why Trump wasn't entitled to a trial by jury. Or just keep parroting the article written by a 23 year old journalist major…

OK, then.

Justice has been served in the minds of Team TDS. Team Trump’s case ended up in the hands of an ignorant and corrupt judge, and lost. Therefore, the conviction and penalty is OK.

Just beautiful.

In the most careful parsing of words, the JUDGE did not deny Trump a jury trial. Apparently, NY State law denied Trump a jury trial.

“Former President Donald Trump did not request a jury for his New York civil fraud trial, but even if he had asked for one, the answer would've been "no," a judge said Wednesday.”

Great job distracting from the basics of the unfairness of the NY State assert valuation trial against Trump. Trump did not get a fair trial, (predictably) lost, and America’s sociopathic TDS hoarde rejoice in this miscarriage of Justice.

THIS is why more and more regular Americans have come to an understanding that ‘compromising’ or ‘seeking common ground’ with America’s leftists is a bad idea. America’s leftists are narcissistic, dishonest people who cannot be trusted to think independently. They do whatever their anti-American thought leaders tell them to think and what to do.

Obama can be thanked for transforming an America which already had doubts about the motivations of its leftist demographic into an America in which there is no doubt about the degree to which leftists HATE regular Americans.

The article factually confirms they didn't deny him a jury trial.

The judge could have had Trump executed on the front steps of the courthouse on live TV and Democrats wouldn't have had anything to say but good riddance. You aren't asking this question of mentally stable people.

This isn't true. They don't see that. In fact, if he's convicted of an actual crime, he's polling very poorly with them and that's already been determined.

In the polls, more independents think the cases against him are fair than think it's unfair. A good chunk say they're unsure.

We are talking about the fraud case in New York and whether the prosecutor and judge went to far

What polls are referring too that are conducted after the judgment and are specific to that case?
