Putting things in perspective for challenged baseball fans..

17 of the top 25 teams lost a game in the first weekend of play. Half of the top ten lost. And none of those teams that the top 10 guys lost to were traditional powers.
Citadel, Western Carolina, etc...
Of the teams ranked ahead of us in the CBN poll 13 of the 20 teams lost at least once.
If you don't understand college baseball, be quiet.

Of the teams that didn't lose, could you tell me how many got to open against a team from the non-scholarship patriot league? That's sounds like a real humdinger.

Otherwise we would be in the minority. If we try hard, we can climb to the peak of the bell curve by the end of the season.
In other news, the season has only just begun. It's way too soon to put this much effort into the typical tigernet spin. This season I hope our results speak for themselves and we won't have to rely on you finding obscure stats to be proud of.

This was in direct response to some folks on here weaping and gnashing their teeth over the Friday night loss.
OF COURSE the season is WAY too early to gauge. HIs point stand, and it is not an obscure one. Good teams lost this weekend. For some it is a mere bump in the road, for others it may signify they aren't as good as anticipated. We have to wait and see because the sample size is too #### small.

trying to challenge the intelligence of T-Net? Last I heard, the highest point on that curve was the 50th percentile - that will put us at .500 for the season. Then the "Fire Jackers" will really be out.

A game can be decided by one or two plays.
Batters are judged well when they are 30% successful.
Pitchers have to put a strike pitch in a box 12"x24" 60'6" from the mound.
On and on....bad hops, wind, damp ball, dew, sweat in eyes,

It's to early in the season to judge. Jack was a great coach and he's still a really good coach. I just don't like his style of management. I just feel his best years are behind him.

that I made my comment as a knee jerk reaction to a 3 game series in 2014, then you have even less of a clue.
proof is in the pudding. As in 20 years of proof. we have regressed as a program, in spite of facility upgrades.
Leggett lost his Rich Rod (Corbin et al) and has NOT back-filled the positions well.

Yes teams lose in Baseball. That is what makes it such an intriguing sport. Jack is a great coach and that game really didnt mean much. One game has no bearing on my thoughts of our current baseball HC.
I still think he is a great coach but not elite. I do not think we are going to ever be elite under him. I think that Clemson Baseball should be winning Championships both Conference and National.
Do I think Jack should be fired? Hell no... He has earned more than that. Would I like for him to name a HC in waiting and start to work his way out of the program so he goes out the way he deserves.... Yes.
