Another favorite National Championship picture

This was the first newspaper cover that came up on FB after Clemson beat Alabama in Tampa. So sweet it was the State paper ! They did a great job though .I kept that picture as my profile cover picture on FB for a year . I went to visit family in NYC in Dec 2017 and a cousin asked "Still a Clemson fan ? " and I showed him the picture on my phone .I laughed at him , like he had to ask ?

This will always be my favorite from Tampa. My daughter in the Tiger Cub suit making snow angels in the confetti after the game.

paper, The Post and Courier, not The State, which is the Cootlumbia rag.
My parents subscribed to what back then was called "The News and Courier" as well as the Orangeburg fish wrapper "The Times and Democrat" while I was growing up.
I don't keep up with such things, so not sure when it morphed into The Post and Courier.
Butt, I will say, it was by far the superior of the three birdcage liners named here.
Now, it are all digital, and a real, printed newsPAPER is a dying breed.
That is kinda sad, you still need SOMETHING to read in the throne room, no wut i mean?
Nobody wants to drag a laptop or tablet in dere!

I grew up with the News and Courier too. There was an afternoon version called the Charleston Evening Post. When they went to one per day they changed the name to Post and Courier. Not sure when it happened either. Just know it was some time after I left the area in 1981.

I've still got a lot of sports sections from the old "The News and Courier", with headlines related to the Tigers. Don't know why I kept them, and if the wife ever finds them she may decide they are ready to be thrown away. After forty years, I'm not sure what shape they will be in. I've also got a lot of old Athlon annuals. I've got the 1980 edition with the 27 to 6 beating of the chickens picture, on the cover and going on through the 80's into the 90's. Not sure why I kept them either. A mans "treasures" I guess.

I had copies of both "The State" and the (now defunct)

"Columbia Record," proclaiming our 1981 National Championship, and sent one to a younger alumnus in Charlotte, who by the way has been a longtime TigerNet member.
Also, I saved newspaper print copies about our two latest titles, both from "The State." The cashier told me they had received extra papers and had folks lined up to buy them early. Luckily, I went early enough, as they sold out quickly.

On a different date, look up the State on Nov. 25, 1984. My 15 secs. of fame (infamy?)
