I'm a Repub and respect law enforcement and the military!
Yeah 4 armed officers, so you would think they could handle one man no matter how big he is or whatever he's on.
I don't care about his color or his past. It's just what happened in the moment. IMO that was murder.
That being said I don't think Chauvin will be convicted of murder. I'm thinking manslaughter and if so it's going to burn down again.
Kicking myself asking why do I even come to this side of Tnet!

everything before kneeling on him can go to intent and things like that, but at the end of the day there's still video of him killing the man.

I think any reasonable person would have to agree that Chauvin certainly at some point should have literally taken his knee off George Floyd's neck. Chauvin I don't think intended to kill Floyd as that would have been colossally stupid with his actions being filmed and many observers present. However, Chauvin was negligent and indifferent to Floyd's well being once Floyd was well subdued. Many minutes passed after that goal was achieved.
I think Chauvin is almost certainly guilty of the equivalent of involuntary manslaughter. Chauvin's intentions are irrelevant to that.
However, the prosecution would be best served to challenge all the other factors that the defense will present and should go full bore to get a conviction for the lesser charges Chauvin faces.
I support the law too and while this type of submission tactic was apparently part of the Minneapolis Police playbook, common sense would dictate that Chauvin's actions were way over the top. Had he treated a dog this way, I suspect the condemnation would be 100%.
I will wait for all the evidence to come in, but I wouldn't want to be the defense attorney in this case.

I think we all agree whatever the outcome, there will be massive riots.
Will Biden do anything?
Will he call for unity or actually say/do something to promote unity? Nah, he will stoke the flames.
What's the over/under on riot damage in 100s of millions?
