After last night I believe DW4 will NOT win Heisman, as hoped.

Henry took best player award last night at awards while DW4 received best QB award..and that's how it will go down Sarurday night imho.
Watson is one year away from the Heisman due to lack of "advertising" & national name recognition..something Henry has had thru SEC & Bama affiliation.
Hope I'm wrong!!
Nuff said..just keep ROCKing DW4! ??

Henry is winning all the awards because everyone knows #4 is the best player in college football, on the best team in the nation. If you take Henry off of Ala. they would have someone else. If you take #4 off of Clemson, and we're a different team.
so he wins! After all..... He Is Man!

Ideally, yes, you're right. However, (and sadly), the Heisman has slowly become a statistical award over the years even though it was never meant to be.

DW will still be at a huge disadvantage next year because in spite of any statistics superiority, outstanding leadership and community service he will still represent the most disrespected, most hated team on all of CFB, yes, Clemson! It's sad for this young man and any other player thinking about awards and accolades that there is so much hate and bias against Clemson. Last night and tomorrow night should prove my assertion true.

Bill, you're spot on. Seems it's most difficult to overcome the ESPN narrative. I believe it'll keep him hungry. Think about Herschel and how he could've won it either of his first two seasons. Back then you just couldn't award it to a younger player.
In the end, this will be a valuable life lesson to Watson, and it will fuel his fire to prove the doubters wrong.

Bama is all you have to say. Followed closely by SEC.

I kind of hope he doesn't win it yet. We need another year like this one to finally shut down the Bama love affair, and the SEC needs another FEW years playing sub-par to lose their reputation. We need to beat OU and then DW needs a career night versus Bama, and then another great year next year, then he's a shoe-in. But like Dabo said, we're the new guys on the block and that's why awards, even the Heisman, matter so little. Win and they will come.
FWIW....IF we win out and win the NC, not only will we be the first college football team EVER to go 15-0 in a single season, but we will have beaten FIVE top 10 teams within that 15-0 season, something that has also NEVER been done before either.
If that happens, the Heisman voters will be kicking themselves for not voting for Watson. Promise.

weren't a viable west coast candidate, he would have a chance. McCaffery is a worthy player and deserves recognition as much as anyone. The thing is, though, if there weren't a west coast player involved, DW would get a lot of those votes from folks who are sick and tired of the $EC bias. Instead, McCaffery will get most of the western vote. DH will win.
I just want to see DW4 pose with the NC trophy. Hopefully, after beating Henry's elephants.

creatures of habit, and ESPN the last few months of saying that Henry was the " run away Heisman winner " it was like a perpetual commercial. One long advertisement and a lot of people once they hear BS long enough will start to believe it as truth. I have NO DOUBT that ESPN heavily influences a lot of who, what, when and where in college football

I continue to believe Watson is not playing as well as he did last season while believing also that we will see again what we saw last season. If he doesn't get it this year, and if he returns to form next year, he cannot be denied.

Last night was the consolation prize, even through we know #4 deserves the Heisman.

I actually heard finebaum complain about the year RGIII won the award. He cried that Trent Richardson of bammer should have won, but one person in the national media did nothing but promote RGIII. bammer and Henry get 24/7 coverage and this idiot cries because one person dared to promote another player.

In retrospect, RG3 winning it over Andrew Luck is absurd. Based on NFL output, RG3 and Trent Richardson should have never been invited to NYC
