If you could have entire former Clemson teams play each other, how would the strengths and weaknesses match up? Would this team rank Top 5? Top 10? Etc.

Open to thoughts, just trying to provide some distraction for those faint of heart “coots” posting negatively. Why not post here and redirect your angst and agony here? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I think the ‘15 team was better than the ‘16 team even though they didn’t finish. All of them are ahead of this team but ‘22 is in the mix for fourth.

I know some will want to argue for some 80s teams especially 81 but they wouldn’t be able to hang with the overall speed.

I definitely could see that! ‘15 was so good and was a foundational piece to future success. I think I would put them next to ‘18.

I don’t have the Clemson fandom history that a lot of folks on here have. Would love to hear if any teams from the 80s, 90s, 00s, would rank above the ‘22 team.

We are better than our 2017 team in my opinion. If we continue to improve like we have this team could be very much like 2016 team that peaked for the playoffs. DJ has come a long way and could easily improve to a whole ‘nother level!

Let’s see what happens, we’ve played some good teams like we did in 2016. The ACC was good that year.

Interesting! The 2017 is kinda the forgotten year but lots of parallels to that year. We squeaked by more than a couple games but found ways to win. But agree. I think better in some ways, but maybe lacking in other ways? Very interesting thought though.

You’re definitely not wrong, the ACC ebbs and flows quite a bit. Glad to see that our home game stretch is coming up.
