I am not as up on some of these teams yet, so it looks OK for now.
No UNC and LSU so low stand out to me.

Losing Travis will especially show, like it has to date.
Clemson is the ACC team to beat in 2024. No crazy turnovers and we’re right back in the running.

Why would UNC be ranked when they lose their QB? Without him they may not have won 4 games this season.

While I agree that Colorado is trash, their 2024 schedule is extremely weak. No Oregon, no USC no UCLA.

The title of the post is correct. It is useless, other than for what's happening now, discussion.
There is little reasoning that any of these teams will be in this position this time next year (or even on the list). with the bottom 10 in particular, they're throwing them a bone based on what they did this year. A lot of these programs won't even be fielding the same team!
The top-10 has and will rarely change based on their ability to reload talent and schedule. Notre Dame gets it customary ranking, albeit lower than usual. Miami? K-State? Iowa (did they suddenly find an offense?), Liberty? Kansas? and we know why Colorado gets a slight nod. Total and utter BS the whole way. But hey, that's how this thing is decided.

It is! Still, These endless predictions are fun over the off season.
I would prefer teams start off the new season ranked where they left off in the previous season as the college earned that.

You realize with graduations, players leaving early for the NFL, and the transfer portal, you're assessing two entirely different teams.

Yes I do.
Preseason polls are a prediction based on players and schedules.
They are always wrong, history is that.
I prefer starting with what the "college" earned. You may have missed that word.

In what many claim to be an "off year", no team in the USA would have wanted us on their schedule.

PSU at 10. Will climb a little then play somebody and get slapped back to 10. Are they #10 at everything? Most overrated team always. They can't and will never break through.
