out Tubby and NC State? Virginia barely did Clemson the favor and took out BC last night. And, Pitt took down Wake. But, State took down Dook. And, the number of available at large bids probably shrunk by one with Dayton going down in the A-10 Tourney last night, as well. We need our "buble" teams to go down. The WORST thing that could happen to Clemson would be for Tubby and NC State to win the ACC Tournament. I am NOT convinced that we are safe now, and won't be until I hear our name called on Selection Sunday.

the only opinions that matter, are the opinions of the Tournament selection committee. To suggest that Clemson is in "no matter what" is a bit naive. Clemson was omitted from the NCAAT field last year in favor of an NC State team that Clemson beat three times. The exact scenario 76er outlined (i.e., bubble teams winning automatic bids and shifting other teams to the at-large spots) can and often has impacted the final tournament field. Like 76er, I will not be convinced that we are safely in the field of 64, until I hear our name called on Selection Sunday. Willfully ignorant indeed!

Clemson fell one more spot to 36 last night. Considering there are 4 teams in the ACC competing for 2 (maybe 3) at large spots (not counting Duke and UNC of course), If UVA and/or Pitt continue to play well and win, Clemson's cushion in the NET rankings will continue to shrink to the point where UVA and Pitt are in and Clemson is left out. While I am hopeful that doesn't happen, as "viztiz" said in a previous post, "there remains a non-zero chance of Clemson falling out" and I completely agree with his assessment.

We also had a strength of schedule and the 300 whereas this year were in the top 25. They have faltered down the stretch but are safely in.

and wants those players to have had a TOTAL collapse of a season.
It'll play out with the coaches however the administration feels. Many people with this same vision were elated last year when Clemson didn't make it, what did that get them?
Give me a thumbs down all you want, I'll die on the hill that I want the players to get the experience of the NCAA tournament despite whatever it may or may not mean to coaches contracts.

If you're a fan you root for the student athletes to do their best and encourage them loudly. This fixation on wanting the coach fired at any cost is not helping anything. Dear God I hope none of the players have heard of Tigernet. They'd need antidepressants. One cat said even if we win the natty BB has to go. Sheesh
