If it were to happen, so be it. I take solace in the fact that Dabo wouldn’t be hiring his replacement, so at least we’d go outside if the program and hire the best available, and not a “Clemson Man”. Not saying I want him to go, just pointing out thah we’re not a charity case.

I love Dabo and don’t know anyone who wants him gone. But who doesn’t wanna hear a rational explanation of our offensive issues and why we are not giving our future qb any meaningful snaps while our nearly-done qb plays so inconsistently?

The offense sucks. What other explanation do you need. Our line doesn’t block very well. The receivers don’t get open. Our running backs are the heart and soul of the offense. It’s hard for them because a lack of a passing game and blocking. Williams has been good but he is still a freshman learning. Every play I have seen Cade in on outside of the first game he has been running for his life or just handing the ball off. Spector, EJ Williams they drop everything. Randal doesn’t seem 100% back from his injury, he gets a pass. Collins has been hurt. Ngata is ok. Williams is our best but gets the best DB on the other teams. The tight ends out are best match up and we don’t gameplan them in the game. If Dabo is saving Cade for next year and guarantees him the starting job I understand it. Probably telling him just hold on. Fingers crossed the offense is further along next year.

The sad truth is this may have been the best OL we have had at Clemson in Dabos tenure. DJ has a good deal of time despite what fans believe 5 seconds is more than enough time to make a decision and they are running the ball pretty well against stacked boxes. The only team that really gave the OL issues running was ND and GT in the first game of the year.

This attitude is what allows a millionaire coach to get away with living off past success and getting complacent. If he were to pack up and leave over fan criticism then he isn’t the same guy who took us up the hill.

Part of the reason we love Coach is because he’s always straight-talking, truthful, and just matter-of-fact about everything from the press to fans to the players and opponents…EXCEPT DJ and his performance. He speaks the same phrases over and over and doesnt get specific on any questions and just defies all logic.

We don’t hold the future but Dabo would be gone if he was called to do his ministry in a different way. We are so blessed to have a great coach with incredible character, the best one we’ve ever had and probably will ever have.
He has earned our trust, if Dabo felt he had better options at QB or any other position that would help the team today he would make the move. We all believe if Cade was given a few games he would be the better option but getting there would have been painful for a few games.
I would have switched QB since the Notre Dame game but I have never took a team to 6 playoffs with two National Championships.

I want to agree with you. You are describing the Dabo I liked. I don’t recognize this guy. The arrogance is overwhelming. Zero humility.
And I’m getting pretty skeptical of the God connection unless he’s giving >$1.1M to charity every year.( If he is, then I’ll feel better about that.) Giving his kids scholarships because he was too cheap to pay about $13,000 in tuition was just pretty disgusting.
So at this point I’m judging him on football alone. The trend isn’t good.

If he is so sensitive and weak-willed that he'd rather quit than deal with serious problems in the program that everyone can see, then he's not the same coach that won the championships at Clemson. The door's that way. Pay us your guaranteed money and will hire someone who's willing to adjust to the new college landscape.

I’d hate for Dabo to leave. But for the money he makes, he has to understand that the product he’s put on the field is unacceptable. No offense, average defense…..you’re gonna get questions. Probably doesn’t help that we are told all year best defensive line ever blah blah blah. But yes it could be and has been worse. But not for 11 million.

In other words, is there an NIL contract/guaranteed start, that no one knows about sitting in Dabo’s desk with DJs name on it? Did we use dirty money to pay this kid to come here from CA, sign a contract with his family - and then find out that he sucks??

Since we're just throwing hypotheticals around, what makes you think he cares? Criticism comes with the job at every University. Clemson Football
is no different and it definitely isn't some kind of safe space for pansies.

Couple of points....
1. All big boy college football head coaching jobs come with fan complaints and criticisms when they lose - especially in the fashion Clemson lost to USuC. Moving to another program will not rid Dabo of fan/media criticism and he is smart enough to know it. The idea that Dabo will simply pack up and leave after some fan/media criticism over a loss is, quite frankly, stupid.
2. Dabo is treated and paid very well by Clemson and if at any time he is not happy then he is welcome to leave. Clemson existed before Dabo and will exist long after Dabo.
Having said that - I think most rational folks are happy with Dabo and Dabo is happy being at Clemson. To date it has been a mutually beneficial relationship and so long as that continues to be the case Dabo ain't going anywhere.
Finally, the DJ QB era will come to an end - either this year (hopefully) or next year. I don't know all that is going on behind the scenes but I do know that Dabo absolutely hates to lose. Everything he does - from pickup basketball games to coaching on the field - is a competition to him that he always plays to win. As such, I am more hopeful than not that Dabo will do what is necessary to fix the problems that we are all seeing with the program.

I disagree with family members and friends all of the time. I tell them straight to their faces if I feel something is off. I would tell Dabo to his face too if given the opportunity. I don’t agree with how Dabo has handled the QB situation. I would like to see if a capable QB opens up the offense. Maybe Streeter will look all world if the QB could hit the broad side of a barn.
Dabo makes close to a million a month. He should appreciate his fan base that pays him and cheers on his team. Did you see Dabo’s face Saturday when he got off the bus at the top of the hill? The crowd was electric and his face showed the appreciation. Clemson is special and Dabo knows it. If he feels the need to leave then I wish him well.
