Holbrooke beat Leggett. Ray knew this team was going to be down (how could it not be). He had a freaking all american team for 3 straight years. He had an unbelievable pitching staff. He knew what he was doing.

I don't think Holbrook has to worry for quite some time. Don't forget, SC and Tanner had a long history of frustration at the CWS until their breakthrough. Even then, you heard VERY few people calling for Tanner's head. Although most of the guys on their boards were calling for the head of their pitching coach at the time, Mark Calvi. Fortunately for them, Tanner had better sense than to listen to the internet illiterati.
Your comment on Montgomery is a bit of a reach. By all accounts his arm should be fine. But time will tell. Holbrook doesn't seem to have a lot of faith in his pen this year, so he's going to ride him hard. Just as we will ride Gossett.
Tanner had indicated a desire to get into administration LONG before they made their first title run. The guy loves to golf and glad hand. His decision to give up coaching surprised absolutely no one. ON the other hand, I don't see JACK giving up coaching for another 10 years.

Anyone who follows closely shouldnt be shocked. We are going to lose some series this year that we are accustomed to winning. We will get better as the year goes but probably not omaha material unless we get really hot in the postseason. We are not going anywhere though. Tons of young talent. Next few years are set up for more great teams.
