Now that Pinkel is out at Mizzou, is that a better job than

SCAR? In their less than 5 year period in the league, they generated more "history" than SCAR has to speak of. (2 division titles)

The whole race relations controversy going on there now is a bit distracting, but in all honesty where is the more desirable job?

Columbia Mizzou or Columbia SC?

I'd say Mizzou.

I'd go Kentucky, Vandy, maybe Miss St as the only SEC jobs worse than scar.

Working the drive thru at McDonalds is a better job than the USuC job.

I think Mizzou and VT are both better jobs than So Car...***

Mizzou and VT are not similar at all though. VT has way

more going for it.

VT will be interesting to watch. They are having to

Nov 17, 2015, 4:05 PM

replace the man that built them. Does that scare people off? At the VT faithful going to be as patient with him as they were Beamer? To ask one of them cicra 2005, they invented football. Maybe they have come down to earth since 2011.

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-aero.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The VT alums I know think the job is Fosters if he wants it

Nov 17, 2015, 4:15 PM

They also think Shane Beamer is a strong candidate.

The old coaches kid seems like a truly horrible idea.

Nov 17, 2015, 4:21 PM

At least make him be a head coach somewhere before hand. I'd lose respect for Frank if his son got the job based on his recommendation.

As a Virginian I have the following perspective on your questions.

People aren't afraid of following legends, if they are, then they won't succeed anyway. I don't think following Beamer will frighten anyone off.

The Hokies used to think they invented football (much like Bama now), but they've come back to earth quite a bit over the past few years.

The next coach will not have a long leash, as this isn't seen as a full rebuild. If they go with Foster or someone internal to the staff, I would think they have an even shorter leash.

Just my two cents

No. IMO Missouri is the 3rd worst job in the SEC behind

Nov 17, 2015, 4:00 PM

Vandy and Kentucky.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Wal-Mart money and no instate recruiting wars.

Nov 17, 2015, 4:14 PM

Not a bad job. Better than SCAr.

Definitely not

Nov 17, 2015, 4:50 PM

Poor recruiting territory, not the same level of passion as other conference schools, and no tradition to speak of (not that SC has any tradition).
