Unpopular spring game notes…

DJ looked like DJ. No difference in talent from last season. Maybe a little thinner. Oline still looks like @**. Defense is either elite or our oline is made up of fairies. Not sure which yet. Wide receivers were meh. Shame that Randall was out - guy is freaking huge. Ngata wasn’t bad. Stellato was around. Running back(s) we’re looking decent. Cold game. Boring game.
Giving DJ the first three games before klubnick takes over.

Seems the only question is not if Cade beats out DJ but when. DJ will hit portal as soon as he’s demoted. Dabo won’t leave him in long enough to burn season. Hunter Johnson/Hunter Helms will be backups. Dabos big decision is does he give DJ news now so he can find a new home before season and give Cade all the summer snaps.
Everyone uses the Trevor / Bryant events as the model for how this will play out. Big difference between the Bryant season and DJs. Bryant led us to Natty he deserved an extended chance. DJ is working hard but didn’t show much improvement today.

Sorry you’re right we lost in first round of playoffs to Bama but we did win the ACC. My point is Kelly Bryant had a much better season in ‘17 then DJ in ‘21

We won in spite of their poor QB play, KB's lack of touch and accuracy allowed Bama to stack the box w/o risk or fear of anything over the top-

It was his first scrimmage, and year 3 for DJ. There should have been a very clear difference.

I need convincing on DJ for sure, but I don't think Cade is immediately ready to take over at QB based on the Spring game.
