It can only make us better at the QB position. We missed that element last season.

Let's go DJ! And Cade! I hope Clemson gets excellent productivity from both and we have 2 halves of 30+points each game.
Go Tigers!

If this is true, we have a big &@#(* problem.

C'mon ... Streeter had to dodge that question, and was adept at doing so.
He simply cannot say that 'Cade is closing in' or 'DJ is separating himself from Cade.'
Streeter's job is to keep motivating both of them to do their best, and that if / when one eclipses the other, then that guy will become the starting QB.
Offering insights for an article is a long ways from Streeter's top priorities.

Streeter dodged but saying CK closed gap would be fine, IMHO

After ~8 months in the program, it would be normal for a highly-rated freshman QB, like Klubnik, to better-learn the system and close the gap on the more experienced guys (like DJ) who have already learned the system. It seems that saying the gaps are small would motivate all QBs to work hard.
I guess that Streeter dodged the question to protect DJ from feeling any heat, though perhaps at the cost of disheartening the other QBs.

Competition is healthy but if sometime fans start yelling at the first bad pass DJ throws, that is not healthy. Support every coach, every player every game.

This is stupid. Yeah, you should support the team, players, and coaches. But these are no longer kid students. DJ is a professional athlete. We should expect some level of production from him. Last year, he was the worst quarterback in Clemson history statistically and the second worst overall in the country. I came into the season as the biggest DJ supporter out there. But it was obvious to anyone with any experience in football that Puma was better than him (even if only marginally). If excellence is the standard, as Dabo used to say, then you can and should demand more from your players. I hope DJ comes out there and looks like 2020. If he looks like last year, he should pulled from the game. Simple as that.

The majority of the Tiger fan base has any of the answers we would like to know, but rest assured that it will all come to a head in September, and no later than the first of October when the competition will get stiffer, and what ever QB that runs out on the field will have to perform to keep the team from struggling to win game against ACC teams that our team just simply out talent from top to bottom on both sides of the line of scrimmage.
With the talent that is stacked on our offense and defense, there is only a few games on our schedule that could maybe go into the 4th quarter without the game already been decided. If DJ is the clear starter, with of our games in September it should be like it was with DW4, and Trevor watching the game from the side lines by the end of the 3d quarter, or the end of the first series of the 4th quarter. If that isn't the case with DJ behind center through September, IMO, the wrong QB was leading the team!!!

If you are trying to read between the lines, I found it remarkable the adjectives that were used. “[DJ’s] been SOLID this whole camp.” “Cade has done an AWESOME job.”

Never seen a college QB go from ranking 95th in production to top 25 which is what it will take for Clemson to make the playoffs. Hopefully, this is the year or adjustments are made prior to Wolfpack game.

LSU brought in Joe Brady who revolutionized the passing game at the team and took advantage of their 4-5 NFL star receivers. We promoted from within the man who's failed to develop a number of QBs. Not quite analogous.

Dabo has earned the right to do as he pleases. And he’s earned the trust of all the fans. BUT, I think most of us are terrified that this may be the one time that it all doesn’t fall perfectly into place. I’m worried to death about the offensive staff top to bottom. Defense as well, but I’ll never understand why the man who had the balls to roll the dice on a Chad Morris hire doesn’t bring in a proven OC with all the money they can pay. God I hope it works out.

Judge Keller says he sees lighter weight and more focus from DJ. I want to see better decisions in the game from him. I really dont care if he is missing some skills, I dont want him turning it over and pick 6’s and such. Just take the sure short completions and get the ball to our RB’s and don’t lose if for us and give Cade time to get up to speed

Off field distraction

So, one of the articles that I read referenced "off field distractions" as an contributing factor to last years poor performance. Was this referring to DJ's parents? Separation or divorce? Hoping that the wounds have healed and/or they got back together.

Competition would mean #1 spot can be taken by achievement, but appears that DJ has the starting position to loose. If that be the case there is no competition, only Word play. Only I f DJ don’t work out will we see Cade except in clean up duty with 3rd string. If they know that, why can’t they say that?

Pulling for DJ to be the QB he was in two big games his freshman year. My gut tells me Cade will be our QB1 sooner than later.

About ten o’clock on Labor Day night we will know if DJ is the guy.
I’m sure that the next game will allow CK to show his stuff.
The third game will be an interesting game even though the opponent isn’t a powerhouse.
By the fourth there had better be an answer to the QB question because that’s when the fun begins.

Anybody know what "faint praise" is? This is exactly what we're hearing about DJ and it's NOT a good thing.
