Texas doing something right for once

Implementing programs to eliminate wasteful traffic stops which can lead to escalated issues and violence

Road cameras (some mobile), like in the UK, are effective.

Such a sham.

In Atlanta, red light cameras caused more accidents than they saved. Nearly every intersection that had one saw an increase in accidents.

Also, speeding cameras violate state law.

Think y’all are misreading this.

When police are out and see an infraction, instead of pulling someone over, they send the person a mobile ticket. This isn’t red light cameras and what not.

Also it’s opt in. Not just random tickets.

burden of paying tickets on the owner of the vehicle rather than the driver. Imo, it will be more trouble for authorities than it's worth.

Yeah, I predict many unintended consequences if it goes to a larger scale. This lowers the barrier to nefarious activities by the cops. Might be fine for a small locality, though.

If I do something wrong, I'd prefer to be stopped right then and there so I can get the interaction on my dashcams.

But seriously, if you want more big brother, then let's just make the auto manufacturers write the software to send your illegal driving habits directly to the gubment when it happens.

All cars have GPS which also enables them to know where they are and what the speed limit is. You speed - bingo, you get dinged instantly because the car knows its speed and the limit.

Your car does not come to a full stop for a stop-sign - bingo, there goes the instant ticket software.

It's an easy extension to have your car see a red or green light at an intersection and figure out if you ran the light. This stuff is trivial to do with today's tech. It goes on and on...

Hold on … are we saying the police aren’t always right???? That can’t be true right???

Correct. But I think I know what you are implying here...Police do not do everything right, but it has never been true that they have been murdering unarmed black males every day in the streets of the USA. It's always been true that more whites are killed by cops than blacks. I know that is astonishing to you since blacks commit violent crime at 5x - 7x the rate of whites. But this crime rate makes the number of interactions with police higher even though blacks represent only 15% of the population. A root cause of the violence in the black community is the white democrat that keeps them dependent and impoverished. I.E., you if you lived here and voted.

Do you guys keep crime stats in the UK? What are they? (i looked) Uh oh, if you cite the stats you will be racist.

-Black people were over 3 times as likely to be arrested as White people

-overall, men were 6 times as likely to be arrested as women

-Black men were over 3 times as likely to be arrested than White men

What are y'all doing to the blacks in the UK such that they are 3x more likely to be arrested.

If you cite the stats you’re racist?

Is it that black males commit crimes at 5-7x than whites? Or is that black males are arrested at 5-7x the rate?

I mean let’s look at the the BLM protests compared to Jan 6th (I’ll even go as far as say protests to avoid side discussions)

I think we can agree BLM protests are primarily black individuals and Jan 6th were primarily white. On average do you think more blacks were arrested at BLM protests than white people at Jan 6th during their protests? White people were openly committing crimes in the capitol building and the place just waved them by.

Anyway, in the UK we have similar issues too. Fortunately though we don’t have our police officers armed in the same way the US does so the black men don’t end up dead.

Yea, the people that will sign up for this aren’t the same people that get “escalated”, for a traffic stop. Or is it “escaladed”? Lol. I crack myself up.
