Three bunts down the third base line for Seth Beer and defenses will have to respect that. Break that shift up and open up the field for him. I aint saying do it if there are men on base he could possibly drive in, but if there's 0 outs and no one on base then there you go. It does two things. Gets a runner on base with 0 outs, and the next time he comes up the coach has what he done before in the back of his mind. I think it would open up the field a little more for the ole boy.
I'm with you 100%. I've never understood why guys who have the shift put on them that strongly don't lay one down the 3B line until they have to respect it.
