This started when we lost Jeff Scott..

Nov 5, 2022, 11:07 PM

Elliott was horrible and Streeter is no better, possibly worse. Not to mention the steady decline at QB play since he took over. Everyone remember asking what was wrong with Trevor, now you know.

This is spot on. Didn’t know it then but Scott was the real OC

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

OK…CDS can get Jeff back…

…I’m for it.

No he wasn't. Tony called plays for 6 years.

The most successful stretch in program history, by far.

Yeah, and Jeff is really tearing it up at South Florida.

Welp, Jeff Scott is gonna be available soon.

Nov 5, 2022, 11:17 PM

Time to get him back to Tiger Town!

Offense has been non existent since he left..Trevor’s pure talent is the only thing that made it better. But even he declined under this staff…disturbing the guy making $10 million + per year hasn’t done something to fix it. This program is a shadow of itself from what it was with Deshawn and Trevor’s first year. I don’t think DJ has it between the ears, BUT I think he would’ve been much better with the right people coaching him.

That's so ignorant. We had the most productive passing game in program history in 2020

Nov 6, 2022, 10:56 AM

Who the heck was asking "what's wrong with Trevor"?

All those NFL scouts who projected him as a lock maybe? No? I’ve got nothing.

I believe they are referring to the amount of INTs he threw that season.

I guess I was on a tiger net in an alternate universe when everyone was asking what was wrong with Trevor, He doesn’t look the same, he’s pushing too hard, etc.… This was all after the loss of Scott and Streeter becoming the quarterbacks coach… I’m not saying we have to hire Jeff Scott back, but something has got to be done.

Re: This started when we lost Jeff Scott..

Nov 6, 2022, 10:36 AM

We don’t need Jeff back.

We need an outsider. Chad Morris and Brent Venables changed the program. We need to make those type of moves again. Jeff is not an elite offensive mind and would run the same scheme that we’ve been running for almost a decade. We need a young, innovative mind to change this offense.

Re: This started when we lost Jeff Scott..

Nov 6, 2022, 10:49 AM

I get what you’re saying… I guess my point was more that we haven’t had an offense since he left. Either way, a change has to happen

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Please stop saying that, because it's completely wrong.

Nov 6, 2022, 11:00 AM

Yet again, 2020 was the most productive passing offense in Clemson history.

Our issues on offense started when we put DJ behind the reigns. He's not a championship QB.. because he's unable to conquer the snakes in his head.

Re: This started when we lost Jeff Scott..

Nov 6, 2022, 11:02 AM [ in reply to Re: This started when we lost Jeff Scott.. ]

Because Trevor and Etienne left, not because of Jeff. Our scheme was bad when he was here. We just had and elite QB to cover it up.

2017 with KB was when it became obvious. Take away a generational talent at QB and this offense can’t do anything.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

We need a QB, period.***

Nov 6, 2022, 10:57 AM [ in reply to Re: This started when we lost Jeff Scott.. ]

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

When Jeff left we lost a heck of a recruiter.

Nov 6, 2022, 10:59 AM [ in reply to Re: This started when we lost Jeff Scott.. ]

We need him back for that as well.

He was also the passing game coordinator, he called the passing plays. He was also on the field while Elliot was in the box. Jeff was able to see what was happening at field level.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He was great recruiter, but he didn't call passing plays.

Nov 6, 2022, 11:02 AM

And yet again, we had the most productive passing game in Clemson history in 2020. Jeff wasn't here.

Some of you folks will just say anything and hope it sticks.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

We had the most productive passing offense in Clemson history in 2020.

Nov 6, 2022, 10:52 AM

And the main issue in 2021 was the primary position on the field, same as yesterday.

I'll say it before and I'll say it again, if we had an NFL caliber talent at QB, then we'd not have fans calling the ENTIRE coaching staff "pathetic" today.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I’m not an Xs and Os guy, but

Nov 6, 2022, 11:46 AM

I remember Coach Jeff Scott being the best recruiter on the staff and that’s about as important as anything we need right now.
