If you are Tnetters are headed to Taiwan remember this is Ghost Month.
This is the month when Taoists and Buddhists believe that the gates of hell are opened for "hungry ghosts" to roam the world of the living in search of food.

10. Don't steal offerings
9. Do not lean against the wall
8. Don't take the last bus or train
7. Don't take photos at night
6. Don't sing at night
5. Don't whistle, particularly in the dark
4. If patted on the shoulder, don't turn your head to look
3. Don't go fishing
2. Don't go near dangerous coastal areas or streams
1. Don't travel to mountains or seaside at night

As a young lieutenant out of Clemson, I spent a year on Taiwan in '58/59 as a member of a Nike Hercules Air Defense Battation. We were called up and rushed there to defend Taipei from Chinese air attacks. They never crossed the "red line" dividing the strait between China and Taiwan (called Formosa back then). It was a beautiful country and I really enjoyed my tour there. Here we are today - with China threatening as they did back then.

As a very young sailor I was stationed in Taipei from 78-early 79. It was great until Carter gave it away and we had an emergency evacuation. Carter was another great President/leader, gave the Panama Canal away as well.

I’m not sure if biden thanks carter or carter thanks biden. Also hard to believe a guy who was President in 1976 has more cognitive ability than a guy who is pretending to be President in 2022. Also funny to read headlines from ABC and NBC in relation to drone strikes from Trump vs biden. Supposedly Trump killed a poet from Iran and biden killed a bad guy from hell
